Also, soon it'll be on live at the same time as GoT. Suicidal scheduling.

I liked it, don't get the hate towards FTWD.

It will never be anywhere near as good as the original walking dead TV series, to me it just seems like some quick, cheap and lazy thing produced just to make more money for the franchise. Most of the characters are very unlikeable and uninteresting.

I'll watch the next couple of episodes to see if it goes anywhere, but in all honesty I can see it getting cancelled unless something miraculous happens and it actually ends up being pretty good.

And it perhaps wouldn't suck so much if they didn't do it so often. Such as the GOD DAMN EPISODE BEFORE IT, with Daryl being randomly shot at the end. Or like with the Glenn fake out shit. God damn it this show pisses me off at times.

Saying that, I swear I do still like it  Honestly, I do. Also, what the fuck you guys? How the hell do I seem to be seeing hatred for Eugene on here? He's fucking hilarious. Fuck off.

Yeah the TV series do wuss out of killing major characters and I am sick of how they are handling Carol right now, either get rid of her or not!

As for Eugene, I can't stand his accent and he talks too fucking fast it makes it worse. He can be funny occasionally yes but the way he talks is so irritating!

I never said I didn't like Fear The Walking Dead. I quite enjoyed the first series. Just didn't think that this, for an opening episode, was up to much.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Some of my favourite parts of zombie flicks is the apocalyptic, end of the world stuff, where people just start realising things have started to go to shit. It's always a bit of a disappointment when they cut straight in to everyone being surrounded by zombies. (TWD especially, as they used the exact same 'waking up in hospital' from 28 Days Later.)

So I enjoyed the first few episodes of FTWD, and the bit with the kid's knife because he knew what was going on just made me even more annoyed that they couldn't get World War Z right.

Yeah, I had been hoping that FTWD would have spent more time on the first days, but instead when the main characters decided to head for the desert or something during the beginning phase, the army arrived and the following episode had skipped weeks forward. That was very disappointing.

Well, next week's one looks good.

Interesting bit of background this week as to what the rest of America is doing, no mention of Washington, though.

I thought it was a good episode of FEAR too and yeah next weeks looks interesting, looks like it's finally going somewhere!

Good episode three of FTWD I thought. Apparently the plane crash ties in with a web series but I've never seen it so won't dwell on that too much.

I love that they're headed somewhere, there's a goal in mind, and also the fact that the shit is inevitably going to hit the fan with the pirates at some point during the season, I think it's all very promising right now.

I really want to like it more, but apart from Nick, I can't get attached to any of the characters and I just don't like where it's going particularly. Basing this series on a boat is different, interesting and works for some, but it isn't right for me I'm afraid.

Also, the webisodes were great. Watched them back-to-back the other day and I think I enjoyed them more than the series so far

The third episode was all right, but there's this predictable feeling about FTWD, imo. I'm not feeling "scared" for any of the main characters. It would be awesome if they killed off Travis or his wife just like that in the fourth episode! Introduce new characters into it as need be. Right now it's got too much of this feeling that the good guys are going to be and stay OK.

Yeah, they haven't really earned the tension. In The Walking Dead things could go tits up at any moment and a main character could die horrifically, in this one they mostly bumble through and things turn out OK. It's also the case I think that most of the characters haven't shown enough for us to really care if they die even if we did think they might.

Not sure if everyone's seen these already or not, but these are the webisodes that tie into the crashed plane in the last episode:

Last episode of FEAR was good again although I struggled to understand Strand's backstory!

Well we're getting deeper in now. I'm very much enjoying it so far, I have a few minor gripes, the confrontation with Connor's crew was too brief for my liking and it's slightly frustrating how they seem to have a lot of major incidents happen off screen (Chris shooting Reed as an example) but overall I think it's quite engaging and I'm beginning to care about what happens to most of the characters.

Be interesting to see where they take it from here with Connor and his crew now surely out of the picture. Obviously the main target of reaching Thomas' safe house will be ever present, but with 9 epsiodes remaining hopefully they run into some interesting scenarios along the way.

Also, Ruben Blades is a badass.

yeah i'm really liking the series so far. it being on the ocean is a really nice twist. nick's the best character though craig, although i'm interested to see how strand's character develops. gay characters are represented pretty shittily on tv, and gay ethnic minorities are basically non-existent. tis so crap that if i say 'strong gay black man' y'all will probably all think of the exact same shotgun wielding g

Yeah, I like Nick, clear from episode one that he was gonna be a primary protagonist. Chris' storyline is interesting, he's clearly becoming quite unstable throughout this thing. Strand is obviously an intriguing character, looking forward to seeing what happens when/if they reach the safe house.

Shout out to Travis this week too, not one of the better characters imo, but that headbutt was fuckin amazing.

So it's season two and we're at a farm with an elderly religious parent who locks up walkers because they don't believe they're really dead.

This all seems so familiar...

Also familiar: the group looking for an ultimate salvation that doesn't exist, with a character having an identity crisis once every episode. We have seen this before.

What I really want is for them to find salvation and give us six seasons of farming exploits. Think Countryfile...

So, Fear season 2 has concluded. I know it's not very popular on here but as someone who does enjoy it a few thoughts on season 2.

I think they've set it up with a bit of potential for all three groups going into season 3.

Nick and his group obviously running into trouble at the border along with Ofelia coming into a similar situation. I reckon these two characters will be reunited early on in season 3. Travis, Madison and Alicia driving off into the unknown so anything can come of that I suppose.

With regards to events in season 2. I think they tried squeezing to much into one season with not enough exciting set-pieces to keep it that interesting. They covered four major encounters for the group/s over the course of one season and parts of it felt too rushed. I've said it before but they seem to have a habit of skimming over big events whereby we see the beginning and the end but no middle of substance. This may be down to budget restraints as touched upon earlier in the thread but it's really the only gripe I have with the show overall. They seem in too much of a rush to get to where TWD group is to give the show the time it needs to really develop characters and storyline.

Highlight of the season was Chris and Travis' arc. I thought they did a good job of making me care about what happened to Chris despite his obvious shortcomings.

Overall I enjoyed it and all the respective storylines that came with it. But I think they have definitely missed out on creating something unique and apart from TWD. Although it may be down to the popularity of TWD that it hasn't been so well received by large sections of the fan base.

It's still a primarily well made TV show about a zombie apocalypse though. So I will look forward to season 3.

Anywho, let's whet the appetite for the originals return in a few weeks....

I just want to get this out there now.

If they bitch out on Glenn's fate I will lose my shit.

The thing with TWD that I have noticed time again is that whenever the zombies become an inconvenience and the main problem for them is a group of bad guys with a typical pantomime villain, that's when the show starts to become quite shit in my opinion.

The second part of Season 6 was awful, which is a great shame because the first part was brilliant.

I know they can only do so much with zombies but they could make the villains less cliché, Shane was a great bad guy but the TV version of The Governor was shite and compared to the comics character he was very tame. I just hope the TV Negan is gonna be a great villain and not another pathetic waste of time.

Also, what the hell have they done to Carol's character? She was one of the best but since the second part of the last season she has been a different person who I find very irritating, just kill her off already! Oh wait no they don't kill main characters off anymore do they because the main cast are all one big happy family and they don't want to get rid of anyone.

Pussies.

Looks like to me Carol's breakdown is happening now instead of earlier on like it is in the comics. She'll probably off herself in season 7.
