A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Here's a rundown of who the ultra-left sects are supporting in this election
Communist Party Britain - Labour
Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist Leninist) - Abstain (but would be happy to see Corbyn elected PM to disillusion the millions who are pinning their hopes on him)
Revolutionary Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist Leninist) - Develop the independent politics of the Working Class
Revolutionary Communist Group - don't vote, fight for socialism
Communist Party of Great Britain (Provisional Central Committee) - Labour (and then crush the saboteurs)
Spartacus League of Britain - refused to endorse Corbyn because of his opposition to Brexit
Workers Revolutionary Party - WRP in the six seats they're contesting, Labour everywhere else.
Socialist Party of Great Britain - SPGB in the three seats they're contesting only
Socialist Party (England and Wales) - Labour
Socialist Workers Party - Labour
Socialist Labour Party - SLP in the three seats they're contesting only
New Communist Party - Labour

I'm glad we've cleared that up.

Aren't you in the Toriest place in the country though? The peeps round your way probably want to " send her back" or some such.

Epping Forest is, but I am in a Green ward and I'm four streets away from Labour's Ilford North. Apart from my mate down the road who is half Chinese and half Filipino and wouldn't have a political opinion if it bit him, I don't have any friends who live in my constituency.

The people I have in mind are Labour (Hayes - John McDonnell's constituency and left of Corbyn!), Labour (Hayes, ditto but more politically in line with me), Labour (Woodford Green, loves Corbyn), Labour (Camberwell), Labour (Prittlewell, previously a Lib Dems voter), Lib Dems (Aldershot)... All around my age.

Consider me suitably chastened.

The amount of votes the likes of NF, UKIP and BNP have got there makes me sad.

In Scotland, Labour are polling ahead of the SNP among young voters, interesting.
I'm all for that, as long as it keeps that Ruth Davidson and her clique at bay so be it.

Well, if we're trying to out-Tory one another how about this for Conservative hegemony:

Last time out Cons returned a 20k+ majority in all eleven constituencies in Surrey, bar one, where err... UKIP were second :ffs: although tbf, this was hugely aided by a massive collapse in the Lib Dem vote, who had previously been second in every seat.

I was in Kent recently. Whitstable and Margate. Unbelievable number of Labour posters.

You have to hand it to Corbs and his advisers. They've done well to make a fist of this. Clearly the Tories wanted Labour to oppose Article 50 so they could be labelled enemies of the people. But Corbyn resisted the calls from the Europhile planks in the PLP. The manifesto is a decent balance between the popular leftist ideas Corbyn has always held and sensible moderate ones, particularly on Trident. Throw in the late decision to do the leaders' debate despite May not turning up and it's been well played from start to finish.

I remain a bit uncomfortable about the terrorism and policing chat over the last couple of days. The stuff about police numbers increasing the risks seem particularly disingenuous and beneath a man of Corbyn's integrity (as confirmed by Lord Carlile). But in terms of pure politics that too seems to have been successful in undermining the Tories usual position of being better on security.

Well done, Corbs. Still think you're gonna lose though.

Theresa May has said she is prepared to rip up human rights laws if they ‘stop us from’ tackling terrorism.

I still say Tory minority. Tempted to stick a couple of quid on a Labour minority considering the momentum recently tbh.

That was already in the manifesto.

I don't think the discussions on the police is disingenuous personally, you cut down on anything it's going to ultimately undermine is operational efficiency, the criticisms aren't new, they've simply got a "talking point" with the terror attacks to afford them a greater platform, before Manchester it was barely registering as a blip on the radar.
