I never understood why cyclists nudge their way to the front of the queue when waiting at traffic lights. It's not as if they're going to accelerate faster than a car and they just hold traffic up. Always try to block them off me, tossers.

Go you. Cyclists are entitled to do it, which is precisely why there is a small patch after the line to allow them to stop there for the reason stated by C&B above. If there is a left hand turn at the lights, it stops cyclists being cut up by a turning car if the cyclist is going straight on for example. I'm curious, where would you suggest they stop instead?

The kebab van forgetting your chilli sauce order.

Dry kebab is absolutely rancid. By the time I'd had enough it had gone cold, because I spent more time drinking to try and prevent myself from choking and help digest the shit, rather than actually eating it.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Behind the cars? So they don't have to be overtaken again?

At the point where the traffic stops, like everyone else has to?

I've never understood it either. Being overtaken is the most dangerous part, so as soon as the cars who have all passed you once stop, make sure you get in front of them all again. Try not to stop alongside a lorry either.

Behind the cars? So they don't have to be overtaken again?

What about the other cars coming up behind whilst the cyclist is at a standstill behind the cars in question? And what if there is a left hand turn and one of the cars behind the bike wants to make that turn? That would end up causing more of a holdup than if the bike was at the front. It makes no sense unless the bike is the last in the queue when the traffic lights turn green, which is pretty unlikely. Hence why the gap at the front is there for cyclists, it's no accident. If car drivers (of which I'm one I might add) don't like it, tough shit.

Being in the front allows the cyclist to make the manoeuvre they require, and they can then move over to allow the cars past. It would only be a problem for drivers who have no patience. Or in other words, bad drivers. Also, being overtaken as a cyclist is only an issue if the driver of the vehicle is an idiot and doesn't allow enough room.

Their kebabs are incomparable with the other kebab vans in the surrounding areas, well, at least when they have chilli sauce on them.

An old-school butcher told me that kebab meat is an ancient ewe (too old to have any further offspring, usually because its teeth have fallen out), sheared and cooked whole at incredibly high temperatures, mechanically pulverised and reformed into patties. That's before it sits on a skewer for several days in some dodgy bab joint. Enjoy!

Cycling at a decent speed ain't easy. If I can sneak an easy 30 metres or so coasting down the side of stopped traffic then why wouldn't I?

Only ever eat kebab from a select few shops, who fortunately for me are open till the early (early) hours. When it's juicy and served with lettuce, onions and red cabbage generously topped with chilli and garlic. Fucking lovely. Even more so when you're pissed.

Oh and as for saink hate, long queues for a kebab.

Just get on the path. We don't want you here with your awkward bulge and comical helmet. Bikes are toys for children.

Being stuck behind a bus or a learner driver is frustrating. I've never really had a problem with cyclists, as most of the time it's easy enough to get past them.

Nowt wrong with buses mate, they're delivering a service to the community. I can respect that. Middle aged blokes plodding around on kids toys and holding everyone up however...

Does anyone on here eat a kebab when they're sober? :ohm:

We once had kebabs in the office as a LUNCHTIME TAKEAWAY. It felt QUITE WRONG.

Tbf, the rep kebabs have for being PURE FILTH seems somewhat unwarranted. A nice shish from a decent kebab shop-cum-restaurant is really quite inoffensive. A greasy doner from some DUBIOUS WHITE VAN is probably an altogether different kettle of fish. Not that I wish to besmirch the latter for there is a time and a place for that too but it always just so happens to be at 3am after a skinful...

Tbf, we pay the road tax mate.
Take your pick from one of these arguments:

1. There's no such thing as 'road tax'.
2. Vehicle excise duty is not ringfenced for roads, so all taxes contribute to roads.
3. Rates of VED are determined by pollution, so you don't have to pay it for a bike because they don't have emissions.
4. Not having to pay is arguably a tax break to encourage people to cycle rather than drive. If you don't like paying it, get a bike.
