Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
The gouging in the uk holiday market during school holidays.

It's only slightly more expensive to fly from Manchester to Paris and spend five nights in a hotel near Disneyland including car hire and park tickets for five days than it is to drive to centreparcs and spend the same time there (not including any activities).

Center Parcs is a shocking racket IMO. I always thought it was pitched at that price to keep out the riff-raff.

We had a few really nice visits before the girl started school, and in term time it's more reasonable.

But other than the wishy washy 'supply and demand' stuff, there is no justification to them charging an extra five or six hundred quid. Their costs are no higher. Same for places like Florida. Costs three times as much in the holidays.

We went to Center Parcs three times when the kids were little. Looking back, I still think it's a racket for what you get ie nothing. We went to Haven one year, never again!

Nothing to it mate, you just have to be witty, funny, a bit cheeky( but not blue, never blue) and make everybody cry in a good way. Oh and be a bit self deprecating so to not overshadow everyone else.
As I said fuck all to it:)

Feel your pain. How long have you got? Have you got the basics done?

I've got most of the speech together and I'm quite happy with it, it's just the delivery I know I'm gonna fuck up! I bet my voice will shake, I'll trip over what I'm trying to say... I'll deliver the jokes badly and no fucker will laugh,... argh!

I found when I've ever had to do a presentation practice makes perfect. If you keep practicing it to yourself you'll learn the speech easier and it will hopefully just roll off the tongue and feel more natural when you do the speech for real.

Our kee:mad:per Matt Ingram lost the appeal over his red card on Saturday even though the club showed video evidence he got the ball before the cheating bastard dived over his leg. We see red cards rescinded quite often in the premier league but in the divisions below

Preparing a best man speech. Never done any public speaking in my life. Shitting it!

I done this recently. I am not the type of person who walks into a room and owns it. I also go bright red when people are looking at me. But, I found reading your speech over and over, sometimes loudly, sometimes just in your head, makes it really sink in. That way, you know what you are saying, so when you are doing it you can actually talk to the audience, rather than talking to the paper and looking all awkward.

It went very well. Once you think you have gold, do not get bored of it. Sounds daft, but when you have read it 20 times, you start to feel like a joke that was funny, isnt funny any more and look to change it. Stick to your gut feeling.

I practised it twice. Once on someone who knew the groom, but wasnt going to the wedding. Got his advice, and then I done it again in front of him and his mate. Went down very well, and then my nerves went away - until the big day anyway!

Have a few beers beforehand and you'll be fine.

My my experience and seeing other ones, I would say have no more beers where it would impact you playing pool. I am shit at pool, but after 3 beers, I am embarrassingly shit. So I made sure I only had 2 pints and some champaign before my speech. Then once I finished, I necked whatever I had left and I could have fun again!

Two pints seems like an ideal amount to calm the nerves without being noticeable, yeah.

Especially as the adrenaline will be pumping and you are in a great mood already. More than that, looking down at the paper and words might start moving and you dont want to be stumbling through the speech.

I wrote my best man's speech the day before the wedding, didn't practice, and didn't show it to anyone beforehand. It was shit hot!

Hope this helps.

My one bit of actual advice is that if you are given a microphone and you don't want to use it, don't. It's unnatural for most people to use one and it makes people feel uncomfortable. Just go au natural.

Wear some clothes, dont listen to C&B. Apparently its throwned upon for best men to ignore that particular tradition. Not spoken to them since I shouted 'who called the police?'

Sorry to add another driving grumble, but bikers that are speeding and then go mental when you pull out of a junction when you've judged them to be a safe distance can fuck off. The entitlement to do whatever they want really pisses me off about bikers, almost as much a cabbies.
