I drink this weird herbal tea thing called night night tea. I’ll have a look for the proper name later. Might be worth a go. Another thing I did was take all the electronics, tv, laptop etc out of my bedroom. Seemed to help.

What makes it worse is that it's only when I know I'm up for work the next day, particularly if it's an early 5am start. Weekend or days off - out like a light within ten minutes. Very much all in the head. Then again, you could say that about all insomnia I guess.

As far as I know, I've only ever heard one Ed Sheeran song, and that was while i was in a taxi in Portugal. I turn my television and/or radio on several times a month, so i think you might be doing it wrong.

I suspect it's far more likely that you didn't recognise that the songs you were listening to were by him.

Indeed I agree that this would seem to be the most likely outcome. Lordofthepies is statistically very likely to have heard more than one ed sheeran song and has been well and truly schooled with his improbable and unwise remark in my view
