Opposing the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre!!!!
I'm from the Midlands and have never heard anyone use the word mom. It's either mum or mam round here.

Talking of neighbours I have to speak to one of mine about his hash smoking. Went into my room late last night and it smelt like an Amsterdam cafe!

If a passing copper smells it they could be in shit, they might say the smoke is coming from yours.

I spoke to him before about it and he's a reasonable guy actually and the smell did go away for months or at least it wasn't as bad. Looks like he needs another reminder however.

Sounds likev you've got a reasonable neighbour i wish mine was, he'll annoy the wrong person and regret it as some of my other neighbours are nice but don't take any crap from people who cause upset to others in the street.

I do a decent amount of running and lots of people smoke it walking around from place to place. It appears to be quite popular with youths.

We use the word 'mum' up here and I'm certainly not posh or soft! :D

You're not posh, I'll give you that much soft lad.

Addition to the things we hate list..

Grown adults who call their parents Mummy and Daddy.

My daughter moved from Daddy to Dad when she was three! Unless she wants something.

I call my mam by her first name. Mostly 'cause I'm a heartless c***.

Cyclists who think the traffic lights don't apply to them.

The amount of times I have to stop / slow down to stop myself from mowing them over is crazy.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Just remember, there's people who want to change the law so a driver has presumed guilt in any collision with a cyclist.

There was a girl at my college (related to Olivia Newton-John, which might give some depth to my story) who called her bearer Mumsy-Dear, in an overly dramatically manner. We also once had to drag her up a hill in her sleeping bag during a Duke of Edinburgh expedition, while she squealed about how sweaty she was.

A lot of people I know call their mum '(the/my) old dear' and their dad '(the/my) old man', though normally when speaking about them and not with them. Is this a regional thing, or pretty national?

My mum has always spelt herself as mom (She's Scottish) but as far as I'm aware has always pronounced it mum.

I hate cyclists who roll on the road when there's a cyclist track 2m to the right. That really annoys me!

This is surely the more interesting story, can we some more detail/context?

I only wish drivers who said this got equally as annoyed about cars parking on pavements...

Cycle paths are often more dangerous and slower for cyclists as they have things like people's drives and junctions on them. Many of them (certainly where I live) are poorly maintained and full of potholes. I stick to the cycle paths as I'm not a very quick cyclist - I'm very much a part-timer. But I can understand those who don't.

The only thing that pisses me off with cyclists is when they ride on the pavement. Nearly got ran over on Monday. I'd have beat the c*** had I caught up with him. Prick. Wouldn't have been so pissed off had the road not been Completely empty.

My 'friend' at school called him mum and dad mummy and daddy. He probably still does the bell piece.

Pavements aren't cycle paths though. Bikes shouldn't be ridden on pavements but on cycle paths and cycle paths should be used by cyclists whenever possible. I can't believe they're more dangerous than the road as any car can run you over on the road.

Pavements are often dual cycle paths/pavements. What they aren't is car parks. It's not really safe to cycle anywhere due to the attitude of many car drivers. But I know of many places where cycling on the road is safer than the cycle paths next to them due to the number of drives and junctions that cross the cycle path.

I've never fully understood the hatred for cyclists. I drive 99% of the time and I see so much more bad driving than cycling. Just this morning I had someone overtake me in a 30mph area. Significantly more dangerous than anything I've ever seen a cyclist do.

I don't really get pissed off with cyclists when driving. I get angry when I get stuck behind one on a narrow country lane but it's hardly the cyclists fault, just bad luck.

Cyclists are just like.. the bug you have to swat that's buzzing round your face as your serve on the tennis courts. They aren't hateful, but you just aren't keen on them being there.

Aggressive drivers - those who will speed off as soon as a traffic light turns green, a willingness to overtake others despite the other car going at the speed limit, driving right behind somebody else and those who slam the brakes at the last second despite seeing the danger well in advance.

Take the hint bud.

Nah, spoke to them on the phone this morning. I've got a call at 9.30am tomorrow (nine thirty for a call, just gonna do it lying in bed) but I need to read the email beforehand. I don't think I could ever work in HR, the bureaucracy is astounding.
