Right. I just know people are itching for an update (go on, admit it). Well, I returned this, because although it was a brilliant Kodi streamer, it kept panicking and powering off, as did the replacement. Clearly a design flaw.

Got one of these arriving today instead. I'd prefer a Windows-based box for the additional features, but as it's 95% going to be used for media playback (mostly via streaming), Android is probably the better option anyway. Like everything else based Linux, it will be more stable than Windows.

Yup, having to put my laptop next to the TV and connect it via HDMI then not be able to use it whenever I'm watching something is definitely easier. As opposed to, you know, a dedicated streaming device (also connected via HDMI) which is available at any time with a simple press of a button.

You don't even need the cable to watch things from the laptop to the TV, just sync it, mate.

Why are you using your laptop while you're watching something? Just in case you need to replace another one of these convenient streaming devices?

I've been through this. You can't send a stream between devices that are connected to a VPN.
