Two rolls on square sausage adorned with Branston pickle on a Saturday morning.

These? Must be more of a Scottish thing as I've not seen them down here for years. Almost forgot they exist. C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_imagesLXM217JC.jpg

Are they different to regular sausages/sausage meat in anything but shape?
Made with really cheap ingredients, I always used to nearly boke when I used to pick them in a job I used to do picking orders for SPAR shops.

The lorne sausage, also known as square sausage, slice sausage or a flat sausage, is a traditional Scottish food usually made from ground meat and rusk. It is commonplace in traditional Scottish breakfasts and is said to originate in Lorne, Argyll. (googled)....Very, very popular and tasty....up here irrespective of Saltire's put down,

My choice of friends.

So, I've got a really close friend, she is the best. Known her from when I worked at Waitrose and she has only ever met one friend of mine. Last night I went for a few drinks with her, arrived at the pub, it was actually annoying how much she was on her phone. After a pint she was like let's move down the road, I was like yeah whatever. Walked into the Slug and Lettuce and there were three friends of mine sitting at a table, WTF? Walked into the place and there was a mate of mine who lives the other side of London, I was genuinely like WTF? Eventually a bunch of other friend trickled through.

With only ever meeting one of my friends once she managed to gather like 10 people and organise a surprise birthday party for me. To say I'm blown away is an understatement.

Additionally the last few years haven't been the best for me with my dad's unexpected death and my gran's (his mum) fast decent into insanity and stroke which lead to her death a year from it (lived with her until I was 4 as my parents couldn't afford their own place (anyone walking from Leyton station to Leyton Orient would walk past the place, basically why I'm an Orient fan... Fuck sake granny), fair to say we were very close). Towards her end when she was in a home me and my mum had a holiday planned to the Caribbean for my dad's anniversary. My friend above called the care home every few days to check on her status.

I was debating a job in Ecuador recently but one of things that has held me back is the current frail health of my other nan. Above friend has said that if I do go away she'll pop round my nans every week for tea and cake to make sure everything is okay. Like, she just goes above and beyond a normal friend and I am so damn lucky!

Additionally when my gran was in a care home we were looking to sell her flat in order to raise funds. Another mate of mine, an estate agent with a long term (10 years) girlfriend and daughter (who I am godfather to, which is a complete honour), with the costs that brings plus mortgage etc. offered a deal that if we rented out the flat he would make up the shortfall for the care home bill, which completely blew me away.

So, things I like, friends in general, not got a clue what I've done to deserve it but I genuinely have some of the best ones possible to have who go far and away beyond what I'd expect from a friend.
That's ace to be fair mate. Nice one.

I'm lucky if I allow myself a wank on my birthday.
