Hopefully the team can throw off the shackles today. They look scared of making mistakes at home and so always take the cautious option. For Moores part I really hope he sticks to the 4-2-3-1 formation as that worked. For us to win I think we need Byers now he’s match fit to take over the game in midfield for us. That’s what we paid him the big money for. My lineup would be same again as Saturday so would go

Ripley
Cover Debrah Hall John
Garrity Byers
Benicio Tolaj Chislett
Stockley

I am still far from convinced with this defence and it does feel at the moment for us to win we have to score more than once. Chesterfield will no doubt be targeting that as our weakness.

I hear your keeper is talented though.

He’s a good shot stopper. That said he’s a bit up and down when it comes to commanding his area on crosses and seems to have it in his head he’s the lower league Manuel Neuer with the ball at his feet to the teams cost at times.

Are tackles counted as pass backs now?
Evidently…we are playing shit away from home as usual (and the fact we are on Sky TV seems to be a curse as we never seem to win). Unsurprised so far.

Our fans getting chucked out within minutes, probably be grateful for that at this rate…

Bottle job performance approaching half time, again. If Williamson doesn’t sort this out and get at least a point, he’s definitely on borrowed time.

Can't tell if Swindon are decent or if Newport are just really bad.

Swindon were awful last week, so i'm hoping Newport are really bad as we have them next week.
What i don't understand though is how Glatzel is allowed to play today as he was taken off last week under the concussion protocols.

Newport seem to be carrying on from last week there. If MK lose today 4 losses would leave them much less wiggle room if they are to challenge at the top, most top 3 sides lose 10 or 12 max a season.

70% possession and not 1 shot, MK Dons really are just 23/24 Notts County

Off the post, unlucky. Played better second half tbf but still not good enough.

Starting to think it might be worth a couple of quid on Williamson the next to be sacked. Early days but pressure got to be starting to mount.

100%. Tbf we should have got more points than we have but also we should do anyway because we have one of the best squads, if not the best, in the league. He’s too stubborn so unfortunately sticks with his way of playing even when it clearly won’t work in games where the opposition just bully us.

Unchanged which was expected and Croasdale back on the bench a positive. Wonder what’s up with Curtis though?

Yeah and if Moore gets the boot at any point you know what our fans will want… a Vale fan in charge.

AFC Wimbledon are top of the league as it stands…this league must be pants (we are very much contributors to that).

I would hope the club give short shrift to what the fans would want and go for the best person for the job. The last few “Vale men” we had in charge were not exactly a roaring success.

Good to see we’ve gone same again. Don’t fix what isn’t broke. That said the Newport score today is making me want to see more to show last Saturday is not a mirage.

Wow we really can’t shoot can we? I’ve never seen a team so unable to shoot, and when they do, it’s dreadful.

Tougher test today and will likely be asked more questions, the defence still bothers me but the pressure is off a little bit after last week, had we gone into this on three losses we’d have felt more pressure but after this we have three kinder fixtures on paper (not that it means much), we actually get 4 of our toughest opponents likely (Donny/MK/Notts/Chesterfield) out the way by mid October so keep in touch and we hopefully can push on.

We looked a level above Newport and Salford, on a par with Tranmere and off it against Doncaster and Barrow so still plenty of concerns to be sorted but hopefully last weekend is a boost to us.

Jesus Christ, I think we might actually go down if Williamson doesn’t leave soon. Dominated the whole second half without doing much but hit the post and then one attack and game is over.

You’d hope so. There’s no pressure in terms of league position etc but the longer it goes without a home win the more that becomes a thing to overcome. Sooner we get that first win at VP the better, hopefully it’s today not that I’d turn down a point against a good opponent.

Although I should caveat both AFC Wimbledon goals were not exactly conventional.

An indirect free kick that should never have been given and a second goal which was clearly offside.

Still, if it means we get rid of Big Willy then happy days.

The MK owners will surely act quickly if it doesn’t turn around. You’ve got too many good players for it to last too long but it seems playoff MK have turned up a lot so far this season.

Notts having a bigger team than Bromley.

Ain’t no fun when the rabbit’s got the gun.
