Two people on this forum actually voted for that bollocks?

I'd put good money on one of them being the same person who voted for Jeremy Kyle.

98. Mad Dogs
Points: 27 | Lists: 3 | Number One's: 0 | 2013 Position: N/A | 2011 Position: N/A
Seasons: 4 | Episodes: 14
Mad Dogs is a black comedy and psychological thriller series. The series stars John Simm, Marc Warren, Max Beesley, and Philip Glenister as four long-time and middle-aged friends getting together in a villa in Majorca to celebrate the early retirement of their friend Alvo (Ben Chaplin). After Alvo is murdered, the group find themselves caught up in the world of crime and police corruption.

The series was initially a story about a rock band, but changed after a feeling that bands have been "done to death". After gaining interest from some terrestrial networks, the series was commissioned for broadcast on Sky1. Filming took place on location throughout the island of Majorca in May 2010, and took around €4m and 44 days to make.

97. Fort Boyard
Points: 27 | Lists: 3 | Number One's: 0 | 2013 Position: N/A | 2011 Position: N/A
Seasons: 5 | Episodes: 78

This game show, is/was set and filmed on a fortress of the same name in France. Although the UK version has since concluded, it is still aired in France to this day. This show is what The Crystal Maze was based upon...after Channel 4 could not secure the Fort Boyard set due to ongoing renovation work at the time, they made their own game show. Channel 5 later bought the rights to film and broadcast the UK version.

In both programmes the contestants have to complete challenges to win prize money. However, while The Crystal Maze varies the type of games quite considerably, Fort Boyard tends to focus mainly on physical and endurance challenges. Although Fort Boyard was something of a pioneer in the area of game show fear and adventure, later programmes such as Fear Factor have pushed things even further, requiring Fort Boyard to react and adapt with new twists and games, including a couple of seasons in which the contestants spent the night in the Fort (this was particularly popular in the French and Russian versions).

Fort Boyard is the most exported French TV format and the fourth most exported adventure-style game show format in the world after Wipeout, Fear Factor and Survivor.

No way! Fort Boyard is big in England? It's totally smalltime in France. That's why it's on a Saturday night when all the cool people are out getting pissed!

Wouldn't say it was big, The Crystal Maze however was, hence why it will finish higher in the top 100 than this.

Never thought of Mad Dogs or I'd have put that in. Probably not the last time I could say that.

96. Takeshi's Castle *
Points: 27 | Lists: 3 | Number One's: 1 | 2013 Position: N/A | 2011 Position: N/A
Seasons: N/A | Episodes: 145

Sheer brilliance

The show was first introduced to British audiences in the late 1980s, when it was featured semi-regularly as part of Tarrant on TV, in which broadcaster Chris Tarrant showcased a variety of unusual television programmes from around the world.

Takeshi's Castle would become more well-known later when a condensed version of the original series proved an unexpected hit when it premiered on Challenge on 9 November 2002, regularly dominating the top ten programmes on the channel each week.

The UK format did not follow the original Japanese format - instead presenting each sequence of games as comic martial challenges leading to the final game wherein contestants not so far eliminated try to storm Takeshi's Castle. Each episode in the original run was narrated by Craig Charles, who also coined the term "Keshi Heads" to describe avid fans of the show. A typical episode of the UK format of Takeshi's Castle has about eight games, followed by the final Showdown. After each event, a 'Ridiculous Replay' is shown, highlighting the most entertaining attempt.

WTF is this show!

I love Takeshi's Castle, hence the avatar for NOTW. Although it didn't make my list. Never really understood why the big final challenge was so shit compared to the great earlier ones.

Also the fucker who came up with the karoeke challenge. :dis:

I'd happily watch an hour of this challenge though:

Interesting. Although I considered 5 or 6 of those, none made my Top 20. My over 60's list from the mists of time was:
  1. Northern Exposure
  2. Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin

I love Northern Exposure. Made me want to move to Alaska and become a radio DJ, sadly never happened.

I've got a lot of love for Reggie Perrin to, I re-watched some of them recently and they're still good fun.

I still follow "Chris Stevens" and "Ed Chigliak" on Social Media - which throws up some nice You Tube clips or quotes occasionally to brighten the day.

Hard to imagine Challenge without Takeshi's Castle, they still show it every day. Craig's commentary made it for me, especially in the later episodes when it was obvious he was off his face. Apparently they wrote the script in the pub, so it figures.

"If it's poking out, tuck it back in! I'm Craig Charles, and mine's now back where it was! Anyway, enough talk about the weather."

Takeshi's Castle Thailand started last year and Challenge have said they're looking into it, so it could come back. No General Lee though.

Someone made a tribute video for Animal, who died a couple of years ago :(

Takeshi's Castle is excellent. I don't think I had it on my list, but the half hours simply melt away with the laughs watching absurd games with no winners.

95. Phoenix Nights
Points: 28 | Lists: 3 | Number One's: 0 | 2013 Position: 200th | 2011 Position: 54th
Seasons: 2 | Episodes: 12

Peter Kay's comedy about a wheelchair bound club owner. I found it hilarious!

Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, which aired on Channel 4 is a British sitcom about 'The Phoenix Club', a working mens club in the town of Farnworth. To this date, two series have been produced as long ago as 2001 and 2002.

All three of the shows writers (including Kay) also star in the show, with Kay also directing the second series. After the show ended its short run, a spin-off was produced, but Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere recieved just one six episode series (finished in 237th on 13pts).

I think Peter Kay is great, but I've somehow never seen Phoenix Nights. Worth a watch?

I love the difficult, obscure questions and the satisfaction of getting one right. I love the slightly weird people on there who make me feel like I’d fit it. Most of all I love Victoria Coren Mitchell.

One of the toughest quiz shows about but I love it. Plus, Victoria is a babe!

Despite me raising awareness of this show in the GameShow Marathon earlier this year, Only Connect falls thirty places from its position in 2013.

The British quiz show sees teams compete in a tournament of finding connections between seemingly unrelated clues. Startinf life on BBC Four, the show built a cult following before the BBC moved it to BBC Two in 2014 due to its growing popularity.

The show has been presented by Victoria Coren Mitchell throughout its run.

Phoenix Nights and Only Connect were both on mine. Loved Phoenix Nights. Probably the best thing Kay has done. Only Connect is right up my street.

Clinton Baptiste is one of my favourite tv comedy moments ever. Saw Phoenix Nights Live earlier in the year, that was unexpectedly amazing.

Love getting something right before the contestants on Only Connect.

Admittedly that's only happened about three times ever, but still...

You clearly like Victoria Coren Mitchell, and this doesn't surprise me, as I often envisage you as David Mitchell.

Funny you should say that, this was my comment to Rammy When submitting my list:

Speaking of which, I gave a comment for every show and the bastard hasn't used one yet!
