Meh, gone off him tbh. I suppose they'll be getting some burd in since its the Beeb and they need to fill the quota.

Chris Evans is a ginger fuck.

Always disliked him.

And a black lesbian no doubt. Top gear won't last past one series as ratings will drop with Evans who is too fucking smug!

Chris Evans is probably the type of creative man Top Gear needs, but he is very marmite, you like or you hate and that could hurt ratings.

I don't really want to see a female presenter, top gear has sort've for me been a lads programme, it is like whacking Clarkson on 'Loose Women' as a presenter. (mind that could be an interesting mix)

I like Evans and am quite ambivalent to Top Gear. I can see it working but I do think they need to re-invent it as dropping Evans in to the current format won't work I don't think.

I think they have to go in a new direction though. Trying to recreate the same show will end in disaster. They need to bring in a team that can make it there own

Just wish Clarkson, Hammond, and May would hurry up and strike a deal with another broadcaster. Far more interested in that, than the continuation of Top Gear.

I drive but I'm not a petrolhead. What I liked about Top Gear was the cameraderie between the presenters, the humour and the utterly stupid challenges. Let's face it, it wasn't just about the cars - I couldn't give a flying one about torque or whether a car could reach 200 mph or more.

I quite like Chris Evans, but if the new version concentrates too much on car performance etc, I'm out.

I watched Top Gear when it was a dry car review show, and would still watch it today if they were just reviewing the latest Vauxhall Corsa. :D

Can take or leave Top Gear, would rather Chris Evans did more TFI Friday tbh. He is though probably the only choice they could have gone for to take Top Gear in a different direction whilst remaining slightly anarchic. It will take some skill to keep the show afloat though as those who weren't watching Top Gear before are still unlikely to now and a lot of those who did watch before are likely to remain stubbornly loyal to t'other three. Though listening to Evans on R2, wouldn't be a huge surprise if James May remained involved.

Well I liked it. Shame it wasn't a proper final episode but still, an enjoyable hour.

Yup it was fun. I, my husband and our 16 year old watched it together. I can't see that happening with the new series as they're not that keen on Chris Evans.

Reasonably good, but definitely shows how the episodes are better with some of the filler material.

Particularly liked the elephant in the room.

Clarkson & co. to rival Top Gear with an ITV primetime slot?

Would love that to happen, the fall out alone would be great viewing

I have heard that they have signed a deal with Netflix, but they cannot do reveal a show until after Top Gear has started - along those lines.

The Mirror claimed yesterday that Clarkson and co are blocked from doing a motoring show on another tv channel for something like 2 years due to a clause in their contracts with the bbc. It wouldn't stop them doing something with someone like Netflix or Amazon Prime though.

I find Le Blanc to be a very wooden speaker so can't imagine him being that great at being excited by a car or able to show much enthusiasm. Seems like the beeb have brought in a big name for the publicity to make it appeal worldwide.

Looks like they've replaced quality with quantity.
