He looked very good when we played against West Ham last season. Scored a screamer as well.

Not a West Ham fan thankfully, but I know about him from his time at Inter. An average player who had, and maybe still has, a lot of potential. Versatile, decent with carrying the ball, makes the odd inventive pass and works hard on the pitch but doesn't produce nearly enough. Can play in the middle, as the 10 or on the right at a stretch. Had a poor attitude at Inter and didn't develop at all, hence being loaned to West Ham and now possibly moving to Wolves (no offence). Spaletti thought he was a clown and froze him out. Inter fans would tell you he flopped and was a huge disappointment. It's hard to argue against that view tbh. He's very bitter about his time in Milan and refuses to take responsibility for his poor form.

But Inter is a higher level and last season he showed an improvement in attitude and performance. If you're paying 40mil euro's, which was his clause in the West Ham loan, then Mendes is taking you for a ride imo. He's certainly not shown that level of performance to this point but he did seem to get his head down last season so I suppose it could work out. He's in his mid twenties now, so if he's ever going to get his shit together and become the player many thought he would be, now would be the time.

He did fuck all at West Ham. And the fact they're now splasing the cash but aren't interested in him gives a little insight into his time there.

Supposedly is a permanent deal but €40m seems a little excessive if true. We need a partner for Neves and he would work well with Joao Mario, who he has played with before. To be honest I would have much rathered William Carvalho but he has moved to Real Betis.

Joao Mario likely to sign next week for Wolves. Any West Ham fans on here know much about him?
He showed potential but it didn't amount to much, maybe it was his attitude? don't know, but Pellegrini obviously wasn't interested which is all that matters.

Thought he did well towards the end of the season tbh. Felipe Anderson is about to join for £5mil more than Mario's clause, having passed a medical. He's a far better player.

Hasn't he declined a lot over the past year though, due to an injury iirc?

Maybe. I haven't seen much Serie A this past season. I know he was out for a few months at the start of the season, not sure how well he's done since returning. He's always been a bit inconsistent at any rate but when he's on one he's almost unplayable.

Jack Rodwell on trial it seems - well probably hasn't kicked a football in anger for a while so goodness knows what shape he is in!

We're being linked with Danny Ings but the article says Liverpool want around £20m for him. Hopefully it's bullshit because he isn't even worth half of that.

Ings has never been THAT good at Premier League level and injuries have meant he's scored just three league goals since 2015. Sturridge is also the better of Liverpool's crocked strikers, and look how that worked out for West Brom. Hopefully we steer clear.

Yeah, fair enough.
Felipe is a great player when he is in the game, but his inconsistency is a big issue, which costs him the starter rule. He has great dribbling skills, he's able to shot so well with the right foot and his speed is remarkable.

Maybe he can be an amazing sign for West Ham, maybe he can be an absolute bust. All depends on him.

Players who hit the radar because of a good world cup are usually big successes.

After the big Russian striker who did well at the World Cup.

Could do with any half decent forward likely to be a presence and maybe score a goal as we don't have any atm.

Aye we've been linked with him also. We could do with another lump up top!

We're also supposedly waiting on business between Bournemouth and Newcastle involving Ritchie/King/another to be finished before we make a move for either Gosling or Arter. This whole scenario also includes Gayle somehow if the rumours down here are to be believed.

Jose Fonte left his club in China. Putting 2+2 together and predicting we will sign him.

He might cost you that much if Sporting successfully sue you.

'Hi there, we arranged for our fans to beat this player up, then we agreed to sell him for 18million, but now think we deserve 60.

Good luck to then with there little tribunal.

Sorry - was harsh but you do appear to have bad luck either with lack of form or people getting hurt - more so if they cost a lot of money it seems.

Arnautovic apaart maybe...

I wonder if any team in history have ever signed a goalkeeper that they put 7 past the season before.

Absolutely mind boggling that Alisson costs £60 million+ and Ben Foster costs £3 million. That’s an absolute steal for one of the most consistent keepers in the league.
