not at all convinced Snodgrass is good enough for our 11 unless Payet is off.
This. He's a stand out player in a poor side. Would he keep up that level at West Ham? I have my doubts. I'd have thought West Ham's priorities lie in strengthening that defence. Look quite good going forward but more holes than a colander in defence!

Snodgrass is a Feghouli replacement.
Feghouli's barely played though, on the basis so far he's maybe the 5 choice attacking/wide midfielder. Probably more of an opportunistic signing on the relative cheap thinking his contract is up in the air, rather than a strategic improvement.

A player's worth what a team is prepared to pay. Sunderland are in dire need of money, but also are in dire need of staying up to hang on to the Sky TV money. Defoe is pretty much their only hope of staying up, but at the right price could strengthen. Will be interesting to see how much Sunderland hang out for. There's no doubt about it, he's still got it!
I think Sunderland can't afford to sell Defoe in January. If they do, there's not really enough time to buy a solid replacement, but he might go in the summer.

Anichebe seemed to have given them that missing link. There's no two ways about it though, they need Defoe. He is somewhat of a mercenary though. If he jumps, it' s Goodnight Vienna!

Pedro Pereira I think on loan at Benfica from Sampdoria, a teenage defender, is close to moving here according to SSN.

The daily mail say:
The 18-year-old defender was the subject of £7million offers from Leicester and Juventus a year ago but stayed in Italy and has gone on to make ten first team appearances this season.

Benfica made an approach last week but the Portugal U18 international, who turns 19 later this month, is keen to join Bournemouth.

I feel like with rising prices of decent players, Sunderland have almost no chance to get another striker who works so well for them. I think the season that Defoe leaves/retires/gets injured will be the season that Sunderland go down, if not this one.

Sunderland have found a replacement!

Schneiderlin to Everton is pretty much a done deal. Great signing for them, he had his best season here under Koeman imo.

Disappointed we didn't at least try and bring him back.

Good signing for Everton, I still think he had something to offer here but Jose wasn't willing to give him a fair chance to prove himself.

£22m though

I bashed the Bolasie signing in the summer, but this one is money well spent, unfortunately.

Up there with best defensive midfielders in the league when he's playing consistently and I hope he gets back into the France squad.

Schneiderlin didn't really get a fair go at United, but that he played for two completely different managers tells me he probably wasn't worth one.

He's just a standard player. Everton have spent £22m on someone who doesn't offer you much more than Darren Fletcher.

Schneiderlin is a brilliant signing for Everton, he seemed terrified to be at Man Utd, I don't think I ever saw him pass it forward. He'll do well at Everton.

So John Terry on loan seems to be a thing
Although while the two clubs are up for it, Terry himself doesn't seem keen if you believe reports, which surely means nothing will come of it.

Wilshere is one thing, he's really bought into his time at Bournemouth and plays with a massive smile on his face every week. However a 35-36 year old who wouldn't really want to be here (if that's correct) isn't going to work nearly as well. Can we not just have Ake back? :(

Tom Cleverley to sign?

Well he has played in the Premier league of course so a better option than some random overseas player and knows the club which will help him settle (albeit a few years back..)

Also might have a point to prove after a pretty poor spell at Everton.

Slaven saying that Dimitri "doesn't want to play for the club". £20m anyone? Doesn't sound like he's playing for the club anytime soon:

Scathing comments:

"Let's get serious. I have a situation with a player. It is Dimitri Payet. He wants to leave. We are not going to sell him.

"It started 10 days ago when the window started. I spoke to the club. I spoke to the chairmen. It's not a money issue. We gave him a new contract. I don't think he will go this window but it will be hard to keep him happy.

"This team, the staff, we gave him everything, we were always there for him. I feel let down. I feel angry. I expect from him to come back and to show commitment and determination to the team like the team has shown to him."
"

"We have said hundreds of times we don't want to sell our best players. He's definitely our best player. That's why we gave him a long contract - and then a new contract four months later.

"I phoned him with that and he refused to play for us. I have a team to manage. He's probably been tapped up by some clubs or whatever. That is usual at this time of year.

"Until he changes his attitude, he is out of the team and he's not going to train with us - but we are not going to sell him, not whatsoever."

As I previously wondered on here, the Snodgrass bids now make a lot of sense...

Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio reports Juventus have been offered a €10m bid from the Reds for their central midfielder Francesco Cassata.

What a petulant little prick Payet is. Let him rot without training Bilic. Hope he's being fined, too. Excellent handling.

People crying about ethics when West Ham unethically got the stadium for free

I could care less about the Hammers ethics... he's signed to them. He's being a nonce & hope Bilic digs his heals in, simple as that.

Unfortunately contracts mean nothing nowadays. Clubs sell players off whenever they want if they don't perform. Players should be allowed to do the same if the club lies to them about the "project."

Payet done nothing wrong imo. In fact, he put West Ham on the map. Karma came to bite West ham on the ass.
