A lot of it is historical to be honest. The wage bill has reduced under Rowe as I understand it, and will continue to once we can offload a load of the shit we've got. Will be a revolving door this summer£2m a year isn't sustainable either unless you're massive like Luton or your owner is filthy rich and not for leaving like Fleetwood or Forest Green. £1.5-2m is probably sustainable for ourselves, Stockport and Notts County. Ourselves and Notts County because we'll both have good revenue streams going into next season and Stockport because of their rich owner who seems to be buying into the model.
Grimsby and Southend might be able to compete financially because of their parachute payments. Hartlepool have a very good manager in charge who could probably get them up on a budget of £1m, but I'm not sure what Chesterfield are playing at. If they don't go up this season surely they'll be in a world of trouble.
