Stockport County.
Notts County looking at that Tshimanga from Boreham Wood who has been one of the top scorers in this league the last few seasons?

This after signing two of Torquay's best players in their 2nd placed finish last season.

And the guy with 100's of FL appearences they signed in midfield.

Where do they find all these unknown gems from?

I don’t think we are looking at Tshimanga to be honest. Besides, it’s not our fault that Brexit ruined our recruitment. ;)

Pringle was a quality player a few years ago, assume he’s past his best now though.
We had him on loan for a few months a couple of years ago and he looked quality at times but way too inconsistent.
Puts a great dead ball in though.

Anyone know much about Hope Akpan ?

Was brilliant at Crawley back in the day to earn a move to the Championship. Assume he’s lost his way a fair bit since then to end up at a mid-sized Finnish club not really doing anything.

Played for Tranmere in 2018 19. Has quality but not a hard working player.
Yeah, agree with Rob. Wand of a left foot and very tidy. However, he's too weak and slow. Had a bad injury before us I believe, I seem to remember thinking he looked a bit scared, which I always attributed to said injury.

Some good players there. Aren’t Alty part time? How have they managed to get those on trial?!

Edit: Ajay Leitch-Smith and Alex Brown too I see

Would that be the Alex Brown who started at left back for Lynn last season? We signed him at the start of the pandemic when the NLN shut down so he managed to earn a promotion without playing a game but then looked out of his depth at NL level (tbf as did most of his fellow defenders last year)

No he’s under contract. Burchnall didn’t actually say it’s nonsense to be fair, just that he wouldn’t talk about someone under contract at another club.

We won’t be signing someone of that profile just to come in as an option off the bench though, put it that way. Still people that haven’t entirely got their heads around that our approach is signing people like Tshimanga before anyone has heard of them. They’ll (rightly ;)) say that we shouldn’t worry about a Mullin or Quigley when we’ve got Roberts and Rodrigues, then demand we sign one anyway and forget where those two came from.

Burchnall said in his interview that there wasn’t much point in signing someone as ‘back up’ for Wootton, and he needed to be ‘challenged‘ for his starting place.

Sounds to me like we’re aiming fairly high for another striker. But I very much doubt it’s Tshimanga.

That’s the one. I know we looked at him at one stage but I think we didn’t want to pay the fee Buxton were after.

Thanks. Yes, I think we paid a fee and he came with a big fanfare that we had 'got him' but looked absolutely out of his depth last year with zero positional sense in either a back four or as a wing back. Hopefully he can find a move to a club that will get him back on track.

We've put some training photos out and people are fairly sure on our messageboard that one of them is Sho Silva. If it his him and that's Hyde's replacement feel free to put us down for one of those relegation spots. No coming back from a signing like that if it happens.

Any Aldershot fans on here? Gerry Mcdonagh has been mentioned as training with us. What is he like?

Laziest player you'll ever see. When he left us he rocked up in Finland and was released after playing only 20 minutes, despite being there for a number of months because of his attitude and inability to get fit. I would be amazed if Parky signed him, he's the exact opposite of his type of player.

Big lad but one of the least physical strikers you’ll see. Can’t score to save his life.

Looks like he’s got one of the best agents in football with the moves he’s had.

Had his best ever spell when on loan with us 5 or 6 years ago (5 in 22 games) and we think he's shite. So make of that what you will.

Sounds the sort of signing straight out of the shite strikers thread

Wasn't it good when you had 4000 fans at the Racecourse chanting 'Gerry! Gerry! Gerry!' Though?

I genuinely forgot we even had him, I had to google to jog my memory. I’m pretty sure he was one of a number of players that came in following Mills’ bizarre scattergun approach in his second season. Apparently he scored on his debut vs Bromley and I vaguely recall that being a decent header and we all thought we’d found a gem, but we were wrong. You could maybe say that he did quite well to score goals in that team because we were seriously bad, but for a big guy, he just doesn’t have/use his strength. If he finally learned to use his size, then he may actually do well for any team in the bottom half of the division, but definitely not one looking at play offs

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Useless big lump, not even effective as a target man. Totally forgettable.

I see some Grimsby fans think they are signing Tshimanga. Anything in it, or wishful thinking?

Someone reckons we have spoken to him but unlikely to go any further. Don’t know of any who think he is signing, unless you are listening to the Twitter twats.

His name has been branded about (by people who like to make out they 'know stuff'), along with a return of Vernam (out of favour at Bradford); doubt there is anything actually going to happen with either of them.

It seems like somebody puts it on Twitter with no grounds whatsoever and then people jump on it, no chance whatsoever in my opinion.

P.s. I will happily have somebody quote this post to take the piss out of me when he joins us. ;)
