Matty Palmer, former Burton midfielder who was at Swindon and Wigan last season, seems possible for us. Most of our signings under the Danes come out of nowhere, but I had heard both Taylor and Nemane beforehand so maybe it’s a goer.

Is he any good? Certainly played a lot of games at a much higher level than NL

Can’t say I’ve seen much of him (we always seemed to avoid Burton in that era), but 35 games in League One last season, 50 Championship appearances and 200 EFL overall at 26 is a decent pedigree. Wouldn’t complain if it’s true.

On the off chance does anyone recognise this CB. Got some good reviews from Harriers fans last night.

Nothing short of a disaster for us. Injuries and mistakes he got photo'd with a Dover player and a group of friends in the pub after we lost to Dover in the FA Cup which there is actually nothing wrong with IMO but a lot of our fans went mad complete overreaction but some have never forgiven him. I was amazed he wasn't released at the end of his contract but Brown wanted to take a look. Still think it's best he moves on it's not worked out here at all.

Palmer would be real quality at this level. If Notts add a decent forward they will right in the mix with Stockport.

This Lennon we a supposed to be looking at does look like the unknown player picture at training a few days ago. Hope we start bringing in more quality, we are falling behind I think personally

How come Michael Cheek never gets linked with anyone, despite his record down here? Is it because everyone accepts he is Bromley for life and will still be banging in 20 goals a season for them when he’s like 40 or something?

Cheek is about 40 already surely. I swear he's been scoring goals down here for best part of 20 years.

Surely we need to be looking at better quality than a reject who plays about 8 games a season on average.

Might as well bring Vassell back, don't think he's signed up with anyone yet.

Two Trialists for us in our game vs Ashton United last night.

'Trialist A' has been given the number 6 shirt for the upcoming season and is unmistakably Ben Barclay from Accrington.

The other Trialist appeared to be Kofi Anokye-Boadi who I think had a spell with Barnet? Played left hand side of a forward 3 and looked fairly lively if unspectacular. Would need to see him again to make a judgement call.

I’d happily take Vassell at Halifax. We need a couple of centre backs. The talk is Lawlor is one of our trialists.

Both would be good signings for most teams down here IMO. Lawlor is a bit soft for a CB at this level but he's generally consistent enough.

You got a photo? There’s been nothing our end to suggest he’s leaving tbf

Personally I'm happy with the 3 who we have signed. This Lennon chap rings a few alarm bells though- that said you can recover from leg breaks pretty well, and it sounds like Southend has been a pretty toxic place for a while (like many clubs in freefall) so would give him the benefit of the doubt if he does sign.

Now confirmed. Suggestions that we may be bringing in a CM and CF today as well, which would explain the early announcement.

Always thought Tom Walker would be a football league player. It’s a shame really he had a taste of pure football at our place, thought the grass was greener and realised these other sides just kick the ball as far as they can. Shame

I've been having to defend him to our lot. He's great techincally and picks up space brilliantly, lovely left foot.

We stuck at LWB all his time last season which is a travesty really. I'm really hoping we can go 4-2-3-1 and really start getting the best of him.

Harrogate was a poor FL move for him too. They don't suit him.

Hopefully he can get back on form next season for us, still only 25.

That’s going to be a fun conversation with Quigley, Madden, Reid et al..

He was entirely moderate for his short time with us. He came at a time when we were struggling and he just never seemed to get going.

Clarke would (although isn’t he Stags captain or something?), Whelan has disaster written all over it IMO.

Clarke would be another statement. I’ve always liked Whelan, classy footballer with a gritty side, but haven’t seen him play recently

There really seems to be no basis for the Clarke rumours though is there? wasn't it from a cryptic post on RP?

Ollie Clarke and Glenn Whelan seem to keep being mentioned. Both would be great signings.
Why would Stags let their skipper go?

They ain’t exactly strapped for cash so unless Clarke was absolutely adamant he wanted to leave and kicked up a massive fuss about it I can’t see it happening

Unless you go and offer some stupid transfer fee that they can’t turn down for a steady L2 CM
