Bradford fans on Twitter really are a bunch of mongs, they seem to think that all Grimsby fans are sat at home crying because the Vernam rumours look like being fake which most of us expected anyway.
Very weird fan base.

I think there is more truth in it than you are leading to believe. Lavery signed today and was told that Bradford wouldn't let Charles go until they had a replacement in. I expect him to be in a town shirt come kick off time against Bromley.

Our CEO denied it earlier on Twitter. And Lavery is a striker, which has no baring on Vernam whatsoever. We needed another striker anyway.

Not massively arsed about Vernam, especially if Bradford want paying. We need a number 9 way more.

I’d love to have Vernam back here as he’s way too good for this league but I’m not arsed about it as I don’t expect for one minute for it to happen.

It’s that CEO tweet that your fans have been quoting with the gtfc hashtag telling us to dry our eyes like we’re all devastated by it, our club has some stupid Twitter fans but Bradford’s have to be the worse I’ve seen, after you beat us last year it was full of Bradford fans trying to troll us as if we’re your massive rivals when really everybody knows who Bradford’s real rivals are - Manchester United.

He probably is too good for this league, but our fans are putting way too much effort in too remembering the few games he was excellent in after coming back off loan and not the times before that.

Yeah, he's got previous for flakey form with sporadic decent games however his good spell for us was when he got pretty much his only consistent run in the side in his defence. My apathy towards getting him back is partly down to the fact that I could see Sousa and Wright being decent next season. That might be the optimist in me coming out though.

Three kids quoting his tweet on your hashtag rattled you that much?

You're better off asking Oldham fans as he signed for them a few weeks back.....
Did he?

He won't be coming here anyway. This rumour came from a pun someone made on our forum.

Mitchell signed for County by the looks of it. Not sure why they want our cast offs so much, it hasn't worked out very well when we've been taking their cast offs previously!

Tom Whelan never actually signed for Oldham, he was just heavily linked with them early on in July. He’s still a free agent

I suspect both Taylor and Mitchell were players we were aware of/interested in when they were at Kidderminster and King’s Lynn, but didn’t have room or the need to bring them in mid-season. Circumstance has just kind of meant that we can pick them up now we’ve changed our squad around a fair bit.

It’ll be interesting to see who is right about both of them - Rowe seems to sign players quite impulsively but then decide whether they’re for him very quickly. Someone like Mitchell will get a lot more time and patience at Notts. Both will have something standing out in their stats for us to have gone for them.

Mitchell isn’t very good, don’t need any ‘stats’ for me to tell you that

“A loan move to another side at this level would be perfect for him IMO, where he can go and be the main man. The potential in him is massive, but just too far down the pecking order here. Expect him to depart either permanently or on loan (hopefully the latter).”

I wasn’t talking about a loan move to a team vying for promotion believe me.

Surely if you’ve paid a fee for him your expecting him to challenge Wootton for his number 9 shirt? He isn’t going to do that, he’s very raw

‘The potential in him is massive’ to ‘isn’t very good’ is a bit of a change in tone, though. :dk:

That’s because I’m talking about him as he is right now, which presumably with your aspirations for this season, is what he’s been signed for, especially given that you’ve paid a fee.

When I spoke about his potential, what I mean by that was that he’s very raw, but does possess some attributes that opens up the possibility of him developing into a decent player at this level. Those attributes are that he’s quick and he’s mobile. I think he maybe lacks that striker instinct and all round footballers brain (atm) that will only be developed through regular games. Is he really going to get regular game time with you guys?

I’ll keep an interested eye on how he gets on at your place..

I mean ideal world stuff yeah, but that was always unlikely. Wootton is extremely good and pretty much the first name on our teamsheet. What we really needed is some cover for him.

We’ll have paid a fee for him because we think we can sell him for more in the future. Our best players - Wootton, Roberts, Rodrigues, Kelly-Evans - pretty much all came with no reputation and we’ve developed them into top players at this level who are worth good money. It doesn’t always work, but lots of our signings (Mitchell, Francis, Vincent this summer) are in this mould. It’s what our whole strategy as a club is now.

Burchnall reckons he’s been one of our main targets all summer, clearly seen something. We shall see.

It's still a strange one, even more strange we've got a fee but we'd take it in our shoes. He was literally our 5th choice striker so obviously no big loss for us.
Hope he does well but just not sure he's good enough from what i've seen.

Didn’t you pay a fee for him about two months ago!?!

Do Notts County owe Chesterfield a favour?

In my limited sight of Mitchell he looked very raw. Hes got good natural attributes though, could turn out to be a decent signing.

Flipping a player you paid a fee for recently stinks of bad asset management, but getting a fee for Kairo Mitchell restores the faith a bit. I'd be astonished if he makes it at any professional level honestly. That's not just bitter ex player talk neither. Wooton he ain't, he ain't even useful backup really
