95% chance of there being nothing in either, but both Ollie Clarke and Ollie Norburn have been mentioned on our forum. Given the calibre of previous signings I guess you can't rule them out and both would be ridiculous signings.

Probably just be a case of people putting the names forward with nothing behind it though.

Rumours that were making a signing in the next day or 2 starting to gather momentum on twitter..

Has to either be a striker or another GK for me

Melvin Mynter & Tshimanga from BW I’d be happy with

Tshimanga would be excellent - weren't Notts heavily linked to him at the end of the season?

I think the fans of most clubs at the top end of the league have mentioned Tshimanga. Whether there is actually any truth in any of the rumours is another matter. I personally can't see him moving North, and nor can I see Boreham Wood letting him go cheap to a National League club.

Tshimanga and Danny Rowe would be a real problem for any team to deal with.

Especially with injured Asante and Denton waiting in the wings...

Tshimanga not having moved to a league club yet suggests they want big money for him - if he was going to cost less than £150k or something then someone would’ve taken a chance on him.

Think he was holding off to a move to us trying to get a league team so it's been mentioned, don't know how true that is personally. Still got our number 7 and number 9 shirts free so I can see possibly some big signings for us to end the window.

Slightly controversially - is he actually that good? 19 goals last season, but six of them were penalties. 13 from open play is fewer than a lot of players never really mentioned in that top bracket of forwards down here.

I could see him doing well at at Grimsby or a Solihull but I wouldn't see him at one of the real top sides like Notts, Wrexham or Stockport.

Even if we sign Tshimanga, for me Asante is still our best forward. The sooner we get him back the better, and let’s just hope the injury won’t have affected his game too much

It’s still a pretty impressive record when you consider how defensive and cautious Boreham Wood actually play under Garrard

Do they? I only ever see them against us but it’s usually a wild 2-2 draw. Penalty merchant IMO.

Asante is definitely our best forward - if we are to genuinely challenge for the top spot this year we need him back ASAP.

Age is still on his side and he's scored pretty consistently over the last two or three seasons. From what I've seen hes a good Non League striker, not sure if he could do it in the League thought. I just assume he's the new Michael Cheek.

Basically this. They are very dour. Once they score they usually shut up shop.

Tshimanga is not the best forward in the division but he is a smart all round striker. Kinda similar to Jake Hyde, only faster and less injury prone.

Some of these players seem to like staying in London unless someone really makes it worth their while. Don't know if that is the case with Tshimanga.

The rumour is that we’ve agreed a club record fee for him with BW..

Could be some truth, could be total bollocks but I guess we’ll soon find out… personally I’m sceptical on it atm, mainly because he’s southern based and also heavily linked with a number of league clubs

4 new signings to be announced this week according to Wild in our local paper. All 4 have been on trial with us and he basically confirms they are all youngsters as we can’t afford anyone else in the current market…

My guess is they will be:

Jamie Cooke
Javid Swaby-Neavin
Jesse Debrah/Tyrell Warren (Can only see one signing. Debrah looks the most promising off the two)
Ben Carlton (Young keeper who will sit on the bench all season)

Sounds like we are binning off Billy Clarke and Gerry McDonagh. Thought we might sign at least one of them.

See lots of talk of this being the strongest this division has been for a while flying around but if Chesterfield are that good then you need better than Asante surely. I reckon we must have had around 5 or 6 strikers who were much better than him last time we were down here. Unless he's one of those that's great down here but no good in L2.

More than £250k? That’d be crazy stuff.

Strange one Billy Clarke as we had him here for a couple of months in 19/20 and he looked pretty good and easily League 2 standard so surprised he can’t even get picked up at this level.

As far as I can tell, the rumour was started by a bloke with the name 'Richard Head' on twitter - or dickhead for short. I'll be amazed if this turns out to be true.

I haven’t seen Asante play since we released him but from what’s been said by many on here it sounds like he’s improved a hell of a lot.
