Tozer has supposedly agreed terms with us. Some statement of intent that.

If we sign Guy as well, I'd say we probably have the best side on paper.

I’m assuming he had a very good year last year as they won the league, but Tozer always struck me as a bit of a standard lower league clogger when we were up in the heights of League Two. Albeit one with a very long throw in.

If Nixon is right and you’re spending six figures on him then that’s barmy stuff.

Never in the history of lower league football were so many six figure fees paid out for so many 30+ journeymen who had a decent last couple of seasons…

To be fair we've only paid a six figure fee for Aaron Hayden, who is 24. Chesterfield have paid a six figure fee for Tshimanga who is also 24.

Stockport....oh

No basic wage is what I'm hearing but in groundbreaking territory for Wrexham's new owners in front of the Disney cameras...he'll be on an unprecedented grand per Wrexham throw and a further hundred quid for every yard he chucks it.

Hearing Tozer is done and we are working on Woodyard from Wimbledon.

Guy on top would be unbelievable.

Also heard that Norwood would fancy joining, but the club are happy with their forward options currently.

We're not signing Norwood and Woodyard, let's be real here.

Yeah, steady on. We don't need any more forwards.

Could certainly see Tozer and Guy joining. That would be 2 captains from league clubs, we will see how serious the owners are taking this in the next few weeks.

Hearing whispers that we are trying to hijack the Tozer to Wrexham deal by giving him a deal that would make him our highest paid player.
He is currently mulling over our offer of £155 per week.

Good signing for us though?
Not sure tbh. Having come through the Crewe youth set-up playing 200 off games for them, to then playing under Appleton and wanted by Lowe, I can't imagine Parkinson will get the best out of him or suit him.

You'd struggle to pin him down to a type of midfielder. Not a goal scoring one, doesn't create too much, isn't a ball-winning either really. He only played the first half of the season, after Xmas, in part due to Covid, he didn't feature much.

Hang on a minute. Didn’t Wrexham888 say it was a ‘done deal’?

Of course a ‘derisory’ bid has the effect of alerting Tozer to Wrexham’s interest and the possibly of winning the footballing transfer equivalent of the lottery at the ripe old age of 31 given the NL’s current fetish for 3 year deals at £9k per week…

Not sure any fee could be described as derisory for a 31 year-old with a year left on his contract… problem is clubs know you’ve got money and that you’ve got the transfer window to worry about as well.
Any fee for a back to back player of the year and captain at a League 2 championship winning team that isn't worthy of the club's valuation can be seen as derisory.

He's worth more to us than a high 5-figure amount.

I think it will come down to whether whatever we offer meets your boards valuation, I can imagine Duff values him a lot higher at this point before the window closes.

I think he'd be a great signing for us, but I dont expect we will pay over the odds for a 31 year old with a year left on his contract. I hope not anyway.

As an aside I hadn't realised Mike Duff was your manager, CM01/02 legend!

“At the minute”. If he wasn’t leaving then it would be case closed.

Obvious they expect him to leave and are making it look like they’ll get a good fee for him.

It's the very definition of if you don't offer what we think he's worth then we won't sell. We certainly don't need to.

Every player in the World has a price, so it's clear we've gone back with the above.

Yeah, definitely. But it isn’t in the wider context. It’s why it would be a weird signing - he’s worth far more to Cheltenham than anyone should be willing to pay, but who knows with Wrexham I guess.

Add him to the Grimsby HATE LIST.

He’s got a lot of work to do to catch up to Danny Wright, Challinor and the Torquay goalie from the playoff final.
Yep state of these Grimsby fans for not forgetting about a brutal career ending tackle hehe LMFAO.

Wrexham getting shoved around by Cheltenham here.

They can't let this happen. They simply have to bid the asking price now for this player. Show them who's boss.

Someone on The Fishy linking us with 20 year old Den Bosch striker, Jizz Hornkamp. Yes, his first name is Jizz.

Shut up and take our money, Den Bosch.

Den Bosch is where we found Rodrigues. Unfortunately, unless Jizz has a British passport, he’s got no chance of getting a work permit. :(

We can’t be made of mug of by an historical tinpotter. Reputations are on the line here, lads.

The former also linked with Plymouth.

He had Covid at the turn of the year and hasn't been the same since, most expected him to be moved on this summer even before the midfield signings we've made.

It'd be a hell of a turnaround because not long ago he was on his way to Preston from Crewe but failed his medical.

I remember telling your fans last year he was a form player. He had a fair few injury lay offs with us and it took him ages to get back to full speed even when he was fully fit.

He was excellent first half of last season, I'm gutted it's not worked out for him but I was also genuinely surprised you gave him a 3 year deal with his injury record.

I can't see him going to the Conference though at this stage of his career, he knows Lowe from his Crewe days so the Plymouth interest I can believe. He'd be better off going there because if he goes Wrexham and gets injured or shows poor form then he'll end up rotting in the non leagues.

That failed Preston medical cost us up to £650,000 apparently.

How do you know clubs are tinpot? because their fans seem to think that playing in League 1 "against clubs like Sheffield Wednesdays and Bolton!" are the pinnacle for players. Cambridge fans put that argument forward for Mullin and some Cheltenham fans are saying the same.

Its their job, most of the want to earn as much as they can before they have to retire in their mid 30s.

Although I'm sure playing in front of 3000 fans in the 'Jonny Rocks Stadium' holds a certain type of appeal.

It's a choice of back to back relegations with Cheltenham or back to back play off semi-finals with Wrexham.

With us he gets compensated far more though.

Historical tinpotters have been making mugs of us for 13 seasons. It stops now.

They rate him that highly that they won’t offer him a 2 year deal after leading them to the title.
