Any Mariner knows if the Greg Taylor rumours are true? Don't think he's a league player, but good enough for a top conference side like Grimsby, imo.

He was a very good player for us a few years back in the Conference, would be an excellent signing.

Hearing rumours of a striker we may be signing. Won't be popular, the blokes a bellend.

Nathan Blisset at Bristol to us is a rumour that surfaced just before the season started and Hurst said he was interested before, but would have to wait and see how he featured this season.

So far he has been an unused sub in their first two games and didn't even make the bench yesterday so the rumours have resurfaced that he might be the striker Hurst is after.

Good bench option for us, if he comes. Can Monkhouse play central midfield I wonder - if we have 4 fit strikers on the books, that is the position we look a bit light in?

He'd be a decent backup to Bogle and Amond. Very quick and strong, is a bit of a nuisance for defenders, but is guaranteed a booking a game just for jumping against shorter defenders and winning headers. I don't think he'll ever be a 20 goal a season striker though, he's not consistent enough.

He probably has his phone switched off, or something. Keep trying would be my advice.

Hurst says he has enquired about Blisset but he is currently unavailable.
I don't know why. Because at present he isn't even making our bench and Clark has stated he would like another three in before the window shuts. I guess when/if we secure the services of others Blisset will then be available.

Seems to be a bit of a whisper that Nic Bignall is being signed. We had him on trial in the summer, but we released him, he signed for Trinity on non-contract terms and has been training with us as well.

Marcus Maddison being linked with 4 premier league clubs, we could be in for a tidy sum with the 20% sell on clause we have

Yeah, looks like he's having a strong start to the season. Any of you Heed lot been following his progress much? I'm wondering if Robertson is playing him in a more advanced role than the end of last season? Also, how much did you sell him for again? I can't really remember that transfer happening too clearly. Wonder if you could potentially be in for a bigger amount from any sell on clause than initial fee.

There is a rumour on our (Barrow's) forum that Aldershot have put in a bit for Jason Walker... dunno where that's come from - but can't imagine our US based but Barrow born owner accepting any bid for a player actually from Barrow - unless it's £100k+ for Elliot Newby....

Is your owner from barrow ? Didn't know that . Nice that he's taking an interest in his home town club

yeah he was born in Barrow, but made his multi-millions in the states. After his dad died he took over the club and wants to take them back into the league as a tribute/legacy in his dads memory.

That's excellent , I think you might have a crack at the playoffs this season . Sounds like he's in for the long haul .

He's not good enough for the Championship yet. Massive step up as we saw when Fleetwood went to Charlton. You've got to be head and shoulders above all the strikers in this league to get a move like that, Kurtis is good but isn't at that level.

It's a bit like all those rumours that used to keep coming up about Oshodi interesting Championship clubs. They might have a look but they wont come in for him.
