Rumours started by a Cheltenham fan on twitter they've just see our squad and it included Gary Taylor Fletcher. Make of that what you will, but it's a fan of another side so I don't see the reason for making it up. Would be a very good signing at this level. Also, slight rumours Fowler from Wrexham could be heading our way too.

Would be an insane signing. Way too good for this level. We were tentatively linked with him in the summer and I really wanted it to be true. Surely out of any Conference side's budget, though?

According to some people on our board, he's been in with us for training for a few weeks after leaving Notts County, where he was training with them. We've got money left from our budget, which was set with a 30% drop in attendances in mind. We've actually had an increase, both in numbers and in price, along with a lot of good commercial activity behind the scenes.
Still don't see how anyone at this level could afford him.

Served us very, very well back in the day when he wasn't fat.

Gary Taylor Fletcher would be a hell of a signing, from Widnes so it makes sense.

Finance not really an issue for us. Hope this is true, big drop off in creativity with Mangan and Dawson out for 6 weeks each.

He's set up his own football academy in Blackpool in recent weeks, so staying in the north west would make sense.

Steve McNulty to Tranmere rumour resurfaced on our forum yesterday. Normally would have assumed it was bullshit, but the poster who said it this time also predicted another of our players would be joining Hartlepool on loan and that happened this morning.

If it's true, it would be a fantastic signing.

That rumour was doing the rounds in the summer. Gary taylor Fletcher and mcnulty in the same team, think we'd need to use a bigger coach.

Yeah. Our manager actually commented on it a few weeks ago and said it was nonsense, Tranmere had enquired and told he was going nowhere. This time around though the rumour seems to have more legs so we'll see. I wouldn't expect it to be announced straight away regardless, as we have just sent our back-up central defender out on loan for a month to get match fitness.

If it is true, you'll be getting the best central defender in the Conference. He has an obvious limitation in his inability to run, but he's so rarely caught out of position that it doesn't really matter. He's still our best centre back despite signing three new ones in the summer IMHO, so I'd be sad to see him go.

Taylor-Fletcher would be a mad addition for a non-league team.

McNulty, Taylor Fletcher and Parkin is the dream. Throw Rhead in there to really make a statement.

McNulty not in the squad today for "family reasons." This looks like a go-er.

Kid in a sweet shop springs to mind!

Why on earth would you need to sign 4 players in a week unless you have a ridiculous injury list?!

I think the three in a week include Taylor Fletcher and Mcnulty. We already had alot of the budget left over and that was before the Max Power money. Brabin said he didn't want to unsettle the atmosphere in the group by bringing in players but the performance against Barrow has caused him to change that.

Mauro Vilhete set to join Boreham Wood on loan. Getting absolutely ridiculous in terms of the quality of player that they are managing to sign and you wonder just how much longer they can stay where they are in the table... many managers could be doing a far far better job with that squad.

We had a small squad and Brabin has farmed out most of the youngsters on loan. Dawson, on loan from Kidderminster, needs an operation likely to keep him out to the end of his loan deal and Mangan is also out for about a month.

Taylor-Fletcher is only with us until the end of this year, maybe putting himself in the shop window.
While McNulty is undoubtedly a decent player at this level and the next, we've already got Sutton, Hogan, Riley, Holness and Ihiekwe who are primarily central defenders. Meanwhile, no specialist right-back, only one creative midfielder, played at right-back and a winger down. If Steve McNulty does sign he'd make the squad even more unbalanced.

McNulty looks like a pub player but he was awesome for Luton.

He was the best central defender bar none in our promotion season. He was among the best central defenders in League Two last season too (as evidenced by his nomination in the PFA team of the season). Fans of other clubs judge him by his look/weight, but he is fcuking awesome. Play to his strengths and he will be the best defender in this division by an absolute country mile, no doubt about it.

If McNulty signs then I hope one of the Lincoln-Tranmere matches get picked up by BT Sport, as Rhead vs McNulty is as an aerial battle I'd like to see in full.

Surprised you've not played Hogan at right back to be honest - it's where he played for Fleetwood and where he would have played for us if we'd kept him after going up.

We have, but he's far better playing as a central defender.

Halifax's finest, Lois Maynard played at right-back yesterday and apparently did very well, also setting up the second goal. However, we really need him as an attacking midfielder, given nobody else capable of playing that role. What was I saying about unbalanced squads...

We have. He started there, but since then it has been a revolving door of RB's: Hogan, Iheikwe, Riley, Sutton and now Maynard have all been tried out there. Surprisingly, Maynard has been really good there. I'd still have Sutton there though, but we've not conceded a goal with Maynard at RB (that I can remember).

On the rumours front, the McNulty thing from Luton looks like it is a goer and one rumour has us in for Adam Hammill!! I don't buy that, but then you never know.

I think it might have come from a faked Photoshop jobby of the Kiddy Twitter account.
