Has he signed?

A couple of members on our forum suggested we were in talks a month back. I'd pay 9 Million not to sign him.

He is on trial. I think we have signed every trialist we have had so far. We have gone from one extreme to the other. No point buying cheap players as they fit into our philosophy on buying hungry players, if they are shit.

Carayol on a season loan, close apparently.

Where have you heard this? thought that was just a bullshit tabloid rumour, think it was in The Sun.

Carayol would be a great signing, everyone seems to speak highly of him.

Carayol was pretty underwhelming for us in his brief loan spell towards the end of last season, BUT he was playing in a terrible team and had just come back from a long-term injury. He was very good for Boro a few seasons back.

He's the one that started spouting shite about Gayle being at QPR as a 'guest'.

Forest confirm they've rejected a £4m bid from us for Antonio. Left him out tonight as he wasn't in the right frame of mind...

Huddersfield have also come out and said they've rejected 2 bids from us for Butterfield. Apparently they've slapped a £5m price tag on him.

Must be annoying when you're best player wants to join your closest rivals... again. :shifty:

If either of Hendrick's/Hanson's injuries are going to be lengthy I can see us meeting Huddersfield's valuation.

Gray transfer fee has been cleared up by a few media outlets.

Rumour has it that the initial fee will be £6m pounds, rising to £8/9m IF we ever get promoted with him.

£6m sounds slightly better, but still very expensive and a big gamble. And - if we did get promoted in the next few years, £3m is small stuff in the top division, so that wouldn't be a problem.

Sounds like he has wanted out for a while. Looks like he will go somewhere, but we have already rejected £6m so unless you double what you've offered it won't be to you. Unlike Lansbury, DF has flat out rejected the notion of selling Antonio. I say fuck him off if he doesn't want to be here.

Sun said we are about to sign Joey Barton. Won't happen.

We apparently turned down an offer from Hull City which included £6.5m up front, so I'm doubtful of us receiving less through your offer. 20% goes to Luton, so no reason we should accept less than a rejected offer last week. ITK'ers around the club are maintaining £7.5m-£8m up front for this one, as the club are reluctant to go down the "rising to" route having been screwed over in the past with similar structured transfers.

On another note, Tarkowski to Fulham for £5m has been doing the rounds this morning!

Diego Poyet set to be announced as a season long loan today.

There's another who's in for talks and hopefully that'll be done by the weekend. Adam Kent possibly.

Have MK ever considered buying players rather than scrounging loanees?

It does to be fair but we did have quite a few loans last season...

Loans and stability is a much better approach than spunking on a load of 1-2 year contracts with little future transfer value, as certain clubs do, in my opinion.

Yes, you may lose out on bidding for loan players when they return or struggle to replace them when they leave, but they'll always be more talented youth players offered to you for loans as the owning clubs know you can look after their prospects.

We lost out to Huddersfield on Rhodes several years ago in a similar fashion to you guys missing out on Grigg, but it's the bigger picture that counts and loanees can certainly play a vital role.

Norwich have made a "substantial" offer for Benik Afobe.

Barton has met with Fawaz then, looks like this is actually on.

I'd take him. We can't give him too much due to embargo and he is the kind of monster we need in that midfield, which is too soft bellied at the moment

Where did you get that from? He's already said he wont leave this season, and if he does leave he could do a lot better than Norwich.

In other news Roger Johnson has signed for Pune FC in India

Never mind just seen it. With the way the current transfer market is for young established British strikers I can't see us accepting anything lower than 12m for him.

Jesus. And he was playing for us on loan last season. Things change mighty quickly in football.

Friendly bet that he goes this season for £9m or less.
