Think if a big championship team did stump up £1.5m - £2m (whether he signs a new contract or not) I think we will sell, he was a free transfer so it represents a good profit on him and gives us a reasonable amount to reinvest.

Yeah, I'd be satisfied with that. If he didn't want to go there's no reason to force him out - £2m is a piss in the ocean in Lansdown's wallet, but on the presumption he would I'd be satisfied with that.

We were linked with Pack before he joined you, can see this being utter bollocks

If you go up, then you'd have no reason to be interested IMO. He's a very steady player though, can only think he'd have the same impact on you that Skuse did at Ipswich if he joined you - he's a very tidy player, and IMO is a tidier player than Skuse.

Suspecting just a case of regular player for a team near the bottom linked with move to team near the top standard stuff.

Cardiff, Wednesday and Villa after Marlon Pack according to HITC. Cardiff can fuck off, there's not a chance we'll sell to them - the other two we wouldn't be able to turn down a good offer from and prevent him from taking a step forwards in his career.
I don't think Pack is good enough for Wednesday and Villa TBH, both can get better players. Doubt we'll sell him to Cardiff tbh. Don't see much in Pack apart from being a decent passer and average Championship mid.

Wouldn't see why we'd be interested. Would he really be a step up from one of Ralls/Whittingham/O'Keefe here? Then there's the likes of Gunnarsson on the fringes also.

Burnley getting 8 million from Liverpool for Danny Ings - about the same they paid for Gray (including instalments and add-ons etc) I think.

Ha, that was an account made by a regular City Tweeter in an rather poor 'attempt' to hook people on, it didn't really work so he declared it fairly early

If you know how Twitter works, usually accounts with one follower and one tweet aren't very reliable ;)
:ffs:
Don't 'do' Twitter so read it somewhere else. DOH. :emb:

Well we've apparently just lost our Director of Football (of 13 years) to West Brom. And our Head of Scouting in Europe left for Norwich earlier this year.

Could cause a slow start to our Summer business.

Big blow, that.

Try telling that to some of our fans on Twitter who are celebrating his departure. Most of whom who have no idea what a director of football does. Thought he did a decent job during his time with us and did some outstanding deals. Apparantly Nigel Howe is going to be both chief executive and director of football.

Hammond, could sell ice to the eskimos. But then in recent times would buy it back again.

Our signings have been terrible for years now. Has coincided with changes in owners, but something had to change. Always a risk, but I'm willing to go with it for now.

Sounds like Howe will be main DoF but supported by some 34 year old former Dutch second division player. Certainly explains why we were linked to that Dutch centreback last month..

Some of these deals were decent. Certainly a better seller than buyer.

Mills £5m
Hughes £500k
Sonko £3m
Shorey £3m
Fae £2.5m back
Halford £2.5m back
Blackman £4m
Doyle & Long £75k
Shorey £35k
Kitson £130k
Ingimarsson £150k

I'm not surprised that he has gone though as things obviously haven't been easy over the last few years. I don't know enough about this Dutch bloke so will reserve judgement on him.

Spurs and Southampton are eyeing up Philip Billing for £4million.

Only played a handful of games but his potential is there for all to see, will be one of first names on the team sheet next season.

Linked to a 20 year old Turkish/German winger from Koln today. On trial for the week.

Early days but we are getting linked with a lot of young (23 or under) foreign players so far.

I said it at the time but the most impressed i've been by a young player at Deepdale since Deli Alli the other season.

Looks like we're sorting out next seasons #1 keeper already with Liverpools Danny Ward set for a season long loan. Played against Bournemouth and Swansea for the first team recently and had been on loan at Aberdeen so shall see what he's like..

Steer will be Villa's number 1 next season :(

Was very, very impressed with Ward when I saw him up close a few weeks back. He made 3 super stops to keep Liverpool in the lead, he's a good size and will catch balls, and his distribution seemed solid. It was his debut I think but he was as calm and cool as you'd like.

Only one game I know. but hard to fault anything in his game. You've done well to secure that loan I reckon.

Thought Danny Ward was Liverpool's only decent player against Swansea, pretty sure we were linked with him back in January but obviously there is the Klopp/ Wagner connection now.

I'd take what HITC say with the biggest load of salt you could find.
They were actually pretty good with us in January, they were the first to report Cotterill's sacking, Tomlin's arrival and a few others. They've got that Pete O'Rouke (sp?) working for them who used to be pretty good with Sky.

They've already linked us with a few players and linked a few of our players away from AG, so I'd expect it to be bullshit.

That Peter O'Rourke is about as clued up as me or thee with ITK shit, it's a scatter gun approach.
