Bye Johnny.

He'll end up in the Premier League, whether it's with Brentford or not.

I think I support you, and the statements you make, more often than most on here, but you really do do your best to drown out the sensible comments you make with some absolute rubbish sometimes...

I'm being deadly serious, they've been part of a back four thats kept 6 clean sheets in 16.

Half a decent season in league one and destined for the PL, I've heard it all now.

Best young centre half outside the PL at the moment is Farrend Rawson and Brentfrd would be better off forking ££ out for him.

2 excellent seasons, plus when he signed for us he turned down a years deal at Blackburn as he felt he was better off development wise by playing more games for us.

If anyone (who has actually seen him) thinks John Egan is not an excellent player then they're stupid.

Sawyers has been playing like he wants to keep himself fit in the last couple of weeks, backing out of challenges and so on. So it wouldn't surprise me even remotely if he has been wanting to avoid injury to ensure that he's fit and ready to sign his contract/medical at Brentford. I haven't had chance, but I wanted to ask if the opinion had changed on Smith? I read Griffin Park Grapevine a few times not long after he joined and he was already on the ropes. The run that has followed has been impressive, but it's absolutely what you expect under Smith's management.

For us.. when we won 1 game..you would see the confidence surge back through the side andd frequently we would go 6/7 unbeaten. However, the issue under Smith is that when you do lose 1 or 2 games in a row, it will turn into a no wins in 10 run. I Remember when we went 16 without a win and were bottom of the league a couple of years into Smith's reign - 1 flukey 1-0 win against Colchester and we surged up the table with 3 defeats in 24 and pushed up towards the play-offs - all with the same personnel. Smith is very good getting a centre forward who hasn't necessarily been on fire and getting 20 goals out of him (a little like giving Vibe and Hogan form/confidence), whilst ensuring the team are defensively sound - unfortunately, he is very stubborn and if this season's winning formula doesn't work early next season, he will stick with it and the team will probably suffer.

Very streaky manager with teams who can be very bipolar, so him looking like being sacked early in his reign, then coming up as manager of the month shortly after, really is no surprise - expect this throughout his tenure with you.

Generally pretty happy with him. He was dealt a crap hand when he joined and had a few players desperately wanting out/impacting team morale. We then lost all semblance of a team and it was a horrible run - I think it was W1, D1 and L10 at one point. That said, the nature of how we/he turned it around has been very impressive and we're playing effective football. I think that should we have a balanced and incident-free summer, then he'll be successful for us next year.

I remember James Tavernier being the best player in league one.

Couldn't get a game for Wigan in their relegation from the championship.

Someone upstairs has been listening. We've made a move for Egan according to the Sun. Looks like the lad's going to have to make a decision

Tavernier was fantastic in L1 for us as well at the end of last season, but Cotterill didn't fancy him in the Championship.

Anyway, Nixon reckons that Wigan want Egan as well.

Rumours appearing that we are after John Bostock. Little Lee is supposedly in Belgium so it could be true. My only concern is he plays in a similar position to Lord Lee Tomlin. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Where'd you hear that mate? Admittedly I've never heard of him, but apparently he's a central midfielder.

It's on otib but I had a text from a mate who supposedly gets the odd titbit. No idea if it's right or not.
He's a decent player iirc. Tipped for stardom when he made his palace debut at FIFTEEN.

Us and Wednesday linked with Alex O'Hanlon. Again, never heard of him.

John Bostock, bloody hell, I forgot he even existed. Must be nearly ten years since he was super hyped but he was so young then I guess he's still not that old.

You've never heard of him? He was the most hyped player in the country when he was a teenager at Palace, moved to Spurs and never got a game. Should be used as an example to all young players in the Football League about the perils of moving to the Premier League too soon.

Word on our forum is that Adam Hamill has already agreed to join us and has been in Bristol today. I'm calling utter bullshit on that one.
Bostock is still only 24 by the way.

You get an half decent performance out of Adam Hammill once every 5 games, he loves supping too much.

When with us the team had a weekend away, was told they were allowed a couple of beers but curfew was 12, Hammill rocked up at half 8 the next morning, paralytic.

If Bristol City are replacing Tomlin and Odenwinge with Bostock and Hammill then they're in for another long season.

Hammill has loads of ability but he seems like Keith Treacy MKII, I wouldn't mind taking a punt on him but I think Barnsley are the only club to get anything out of him consistently.

Speaking of Treacy, his fall from grace is amazing, he was superb for us in the Championship, could beat a man, totally two footed, regularly scored screamers. Ended up joining Burnley for over a million when we were relegated and now he's back playing in Ireland after being released from Barnsley... still only 27.

Almost has bad as Simon Whaley's tumble down the football pyramid, the guy was class for us under Davies, genuine Premier League standard imo.

FWIW I agree with you but they're only rumours bud. Considering how small our squad is with the loans returning, I would imagine there will be a fair few coming in so the number of rumours will be obscene this summer.

You do make me laugh. You didn't rate those two when we signed them. Now we will be screwed without them? Make your mind up.

As for Odenwinge, he's barely featured (for some unknown reason as he looked good in his first couple of appearances)

It's going to be a long summer.........

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson plans to sit down with Middlesbrough FC and attempt to thrash out a permanent deal for winger Adam Reach this summer. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a sizzling season on loan at Deepdale, after struggling to force his way into Aitor Karanka's first-team picture on Teesside.

The wide man has impressed during his 35 league appearances for Grayson's side - andwas even compared to Real Madrid Galactico Gareth Bale by one of his Preston teammates. With Boro preparing for life in the Premier League, Reach's long-term future at the Riverside is set to be decided this summer.

I'd be happy with that, don't think he will be cheap though.

John bostock was at Wednesday 2/3 years ago, was pretty much horse shit for his entire time with us.

According to Turkish media we've signed Sabri Sarıoğlu, galatasary captain made over 400apps for them and capped 46 times by turkey, it's a decent cv I suppose

Egan has turned down Gillingham's contract offer, close to agreeing a deal with us.
