Callum Paterson from Hearts is our latest rumour and this one appears to have legs as the Jam Tarts have been discussing it and generally slagging us off.

Just had a read, very amusing.

Scottish football fans just cannot seem to comprehend that their standard of football is dross, I'd confidently say it's about the equivalent of our League 2. Only have to look at players like Kane Hemmings and Adam Rooney who both failed comprehensively at Barnsley and Oldham respectively in our League One, who this season both have 20+ goals in the SPL. Then David Clarkson who was shocking for both us at Championship level, and the Gas in League 2, went back to Scotland and scored 8 goals in his first 8 games... Pissed myself when I saw a few of them slating the Championship because the standard isn't up to anything, when Ricky Foster still plays in your top division lads.

Says it all when their overriding consensus is that Paterson is too good for us, when we're not even confident that he'll be up to the level. I don't think they're aware either that we spent the end of last season with the unconvincing Adam Matthews, who funny enough was previously the best right back in the SPL.

We had mark Reynolds a few years back when we were in league one, absolutely garbage full back, named in spl team of the year 2 years on trot, and then there's Stevie May.......

Who was the blonde prick defender we had on loan from Man City with the turning circle of the Titanic and ran like he was running in custard? He had the pace of a sloth yet made a decent career at Hibs? By god he was shite!!

Sounds like Ryan McGivern. He plays for Port Vale now and is still awful. Got himself sent off against us at the DW, then proceeded to almost do a Di Canio on the ref when he was shown the red.

Hiwula will be a good signing for a L1 club chasing promotion as long as he isn't played as a lone striker. Play him with support and he'll score goals.

That's the bloke, dreadful footballer. Looked the part but couldn't play for shit! I've never seen a footballer as slow as him, my nan was quicker and she was 90 when she left us.

He had no attributes resembling a footballer whatsoever, how the hell he was on Man City's books until he was 20 I'll never know

He's just been released from Port Vale actually, which probably shows how awful he is.

It's the 'big fish in a smaller pond' again mate, a bit like clubs of our size in L1 (with all respect to L1). I would far rather be where we are in a very decent competitive league than playing in a division where you can pretty much name the winners before it even starts. It's not Hearts fault where they play but the comparison with the English leagues is just futile.
Yes, Hearts are probably a bigger name than us and more successful but the levels of competition are worlds apart. One thing I will agree with from their comments is that Hearts , Celtic, Rangers, Hibs and Aberdeen would be able to compete in England given the financial muscle the English game brings but it's never going to happen so it's a futile argument IMHO.
Jealousy of finance perhaps?

Most of those are just people who will be out of contract, some of those may be offered new deals, like Josh Brownhill has for Preston.

Where'd that info come from Ciderup? Becasue our list hasn't been released yet, not to mention a few of the players mentioned are under contract until 2017 or later.

Someone posted it on our official forum Dai, probably cut and pasted from somewhere else I should think. I have no idea of its' accuracy.
There are a couple of surprises in the Rotherham players OOC, I must say. Derbyshire and Halford won't be short of offers.

It's not accurate at all. Why would the sides in the play-offs release their lists before their season has ended?

Yeah Ross Wallace has another year to run, Sam Hutchinson I'm sure signed a contract extension earlier this season and Melo only signed January 2015 which I'm sure was a 3 and a half year deal.

If Cardiff's Craig Noone was out of contract I'd like us to have a look into him, quality player.

To confirm, that is just people out of contract, NOT who's being released.

Apologies, my mistake. :emb:

Ours is wrong CU.

Gudmundsson is contracted until 2019 whilst Lookman's is 2020. Diarra and Harriott have one year extension options on theirs too.

Yeah, that list is bollocks.

Ben Davies has another year at North End, Steven James left in January and Josh Brownhill has been offered a 2yr deal.

Get a decent offer for Cooper and i would sell him. Rumours earilier in the year Stoke and West Ham were interested in him.

Agreed. I don't think much of him, whenever I've seen him play (which is few and far between in comparison to yourself) he's looked awfully rash. Hector looked better at his age. He'll be a solid player one day, no doubt, but I'd rather get someone in who is a little more experienced.
