To be honest Wells is more the kind of player I could see us going for, Kodjia would right be at a massively inflated price tag whereas with Wells I reckon he'd be far cheaper. Not up on Huddersfield's financial situation but if we went in and bid around 3M I could maybe see it being considered.

 Think you'll be disappointed

One on there suggested 1.5mil tops, madness

That's only being suggested by the odd squad on there, most sensible fans know that you're in a position to hold out for as much as you like, much like we are if anyone came in for our players. You have money, he's well under contract and has just banged in 20 goals.. as a city fan on our forum has posted you've only got to look at the price tags of his fellow goalscoring chart companions (Rhodes, McCormack, Hernandez etc).

He'd be a good addition to any team in this league but one we don't need essentially, especially for the money we'd have to pay. We're better off looking elsewhere and maybe at teams who are in need of a bit of cash so the ball is in our court a little when it comes to negotiations.

Heard we are going for Wells I'd debate more but Bristol City online is currently boring me.
No-one else is making conversation at this boring time of year mate.

Yeah, most posts were sensible, was shocked someone was seriously suggesting that little. I nearly signed up to give more info on him, but the one on there beat me to it

Is he really that good?

He's not a Premier League player but 18 goals for a side that is as 19th place as you could get is very impressive, wasn't too far behind that figure last season either and that was with Powell football. Again it is a case of he'll cost far more than his value due to his worth to us. Can't see us finding anyone as prolific with some of the money being splashed around. We don't need to sell either with income rising and money still in the bank from last year's player sales, so it would have to be something ridiculous, ala Bristol City with Kodjia.

How long has Wells got on his contract?

Aye, it was me who signed up and posted a few times (by the username of JJH, not the other City fan who also signed up) in that thread. Ignored the £1.5m posts, they clearly don't follow us so it's not worth debating.

Kari Arnason never qualified for the Euros while playing for Rotherham. This is the first time Iceland have qualified and he wasn't playing for you last season.

Thought Iceland had qualified earlier but was on the 6th of September 2015, he left us on the 29th of June of that year, I thought they had qualified on the 12 of June.

So not as clean cut as you make out.

:ffs:

I've never known someone who churns out so much shite.

So much shite? it was a matter of them qualifying in the September he left us in the June.

I thought they'd qualified a game earlier in the June whilst he was still our player.

That man could not hit a barn door with a beach ball when we had him on loan.

Sorry for boring you Walkley but we seem to be the only team with much to report at the mo.
The Euros start next week so we'll have something else to talk about then. With Smalling in the team I'm not sure it will be for long but at least it's something else eh! :ffs:

Not a great deal has changed then. He's still good though, which is odd, but true.

I think we can safely say the Mousset deal is dead. Sevilla in the Champions League or City? Hmmmm! :ffs:

Onto the next one - if we were actually ever in for him anyway.

I would think we probably were mate and tried to steal in before the rest but have been undone by social media. Nothing can be done on the quiet anymore especially as you get higher in the football echelons.
We tried. Que sera, as you say 'next'!

Supposedly it's just interest from them for now and we are trying to get the deal done asap, but very unlikely now. Then again Fenerbache have been interested the whole time we have and Mousset is (was?) expected to be coming to England next week.

He may take a look at Kodjia's progress and see Bristol City as a sensible move in terms of stepping up without taking on more than he can handle. Gonna be tough for any player to pass up a move to the likes of Sevilla or Fenerbahce though I reckon.

Matty Taylor (the alleged next Jamie Vardy) is meeting a few clubs this week and we're one of them. Can imagine the others being along the lines of PNE, Wolves, Bristol City maybe Blues as well. All clubs that could do with a goalscorer on a free transfer. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

He looks decent from what I've seen (well his name pops up often on the SSN score bar). Didn't know he was out of contract, probably half the bottom half of the Championship will be after him in that case.

You never know, another English club could be interested.

We have reportedly bid 2 million for Bradley Dack. Reported by the Bristol Post though, so maybe unreliable.

£2m in for Dack as Josh said. Tomlin deal dead in the water then I presume.

Could be trying to push Tomlin into accepting lower wages seeing us bidding elsewhere, £2m would surely rubbish the rumour Tomlin was 1.5m though.
