You must be trying to reel em in with that one.

Their answer to a shite season this year is to raid 6th place in league one Barnsley.

There's more chance of us going up than them.

Wednesday will be up there with Villa and Newcastle all season.
Again, any amount and you name it that we finish above you. Like blademan89 said, you're delaying the inevitable, it's only a matter of time before you get relegated back to your rightful level.

Kodija worth £10m+

Oh my fucking god. When I thought they couldn't get any more deluded.

He's not in the same league as Gray/McCormack/Rhodes/Hernandez the first three are British which adds a premium and in the case of McCormack and Rhodes scored 20+ goals continuously at this level for years, not a one off season.

Hernandez is in a league of his own signed as a PL player (something Kodija will never be), scored in seria a and a Uruguayan international, not some tinpot African shithole.

Then if you consider Hooper and Forrestieri were signed for £3m a peice and we've got small time Bristol City fans wanting £10m+ for a potential one season wonder? It beggars belief it truly does.

Your owners would settle for £5m and be fucking grateful.
Ha, you still haven't dislodged your head from Wednesday's arsehole then.

Kodjia scored two less goals than Hernandez in a team that finished 18th or whatever it was, Hull went up. Hernandez signed as a PL player and was shit in the PL. Been good at this level. Kodjia's a better player than Hernandez, and will go for a similar fee.

Anyway, as for Kodjia scoring in some 'tinpot African shithole' again I advise you to do your research. Kodjia had a 1 in 2 strike rate for Angers and they went up from Ligue 2 into Ligue 1 and then signed here.

So then, let's get this straight. In comparison, you said that Kodjia would go for £5m, but then you value JCH at £4m, who couldn't even get into your side ahead of Matt Derbyshire and Leon Best? Anyone's guess how you figured that one out

For the record, nobody is saying JK is worth £10M but we have no need to sell him so can ask for an inflated fee. Similar to the position Barnsley are in if we / anyone else wanted Mawson.
Right, I'm off to rake some leaves. :hypo:

A good centre-half is hard to replace. We would probably want around £7.5million at least plus a 50% sell on clause and a further £2.5million if the club he signs for wins promotion.

He's under contract Craig so you can ask whatever you want. It's then up to the other clubs to decide if they want to pay it. Mawson, the same as JK, isn't worth that but he's your contracted player so Barnsley set the fee.

Anyway SERNWA, you referenced Hernandez making the national team for Uruguay, have a look what Kodjia did in his second get for the Ivory Coast last night:

https://twitter.com/bcfctweets/status/739187975507070976

Let's have a bit of reality here that was scored against Gabon who sit around 90th in the ranking table under Cyprus, Honduras & Qatar.
Be like watching him score that in training against the u21's

I didn't mention the opposition, more the fact he scored for the Ivory Coast and is being rotated with players like Gervinho and Kalou.

What about it? He has still broke through to their squad, and they're hardly short on striking options.

If Kodjia starts at Qualifying games and at the ACON then I will start getting excited about it but it's 2 end of season friendlies against Sunday league national teams in which he scored 1 goal in.

No extra value is added to him and really it its just a confidence and nice experience for the bloke.

He's still offside a lot for Ivory Coast as well

I'm not getting carried away, merely making the point that he's now made international appearances and scored an international goal.

Think he'll still be here next season, so a bit of a shitter for us if he goes to the ACON but then it adds to his value as you said, so every cloud...

I'd love Kodjia here and I reckon we'll be stumping up the money for players like him over the summer, we probably need another striker to add to Hooper, Forestieri and Joao. Couldn't see us spending anywhere near 10M on him though, we have money but Chansiri is very prudent, 5-6M would be the figure I'd reckon.

Matt Derbyshire scored the best goal you'll see at Ashton Gate all season and you should be grateful you got to see it.

Has £10m+ man Kodija been able to leave world beater Richard Wood's pocket from that game yet?
Wrong once again, but I expect you're used to that.

As for Kodjia we have potentially 3 years left on the contract, and just scored 20 goals in a debut season, all the other top scorers had penalties making up 4-5 of their goals, Kodjia had just one, there abosolutely no reason for the club not to put a £10million price on him as we don't need to sell and are short on strikers.

Then again with £10 million you could probably buy Rotherham

As much as I slated Mason when we first signed him, he hasn't been too bad in all honesty. Jackett has hardly played him, but the few chances he gets he has had a decent goal return for us. Under the right management he could be a solid player in this league.
Think I said at the time the talent is undoubtedly there, it was more his application and the general way he carried himself that annoyed a lot of people and why we were happy to see him go. The £3 million was just the icing on the cake so to say,

I'd be amazed if we accepted that. Like I said, we'll be using other fees in this league as a benchmark. Boro offered £5m for Murphy last year, he's 33. The money in this league is ridiculous, we're in no position to need to cash in on a poor offer.

Wouldn't blame you for holding out, like you say the money in this league is crazy and I'm sure we'll see some more 10M+ signings this summer. Where has this rumor come from by the way, can't see anything on Owlstalk about it?

No idea mate, haven't seen anything either.

Wednesday would be a good move for Kodjia if you put the money up. You've got a good squad currently, a manager tied down to a contract and an owner willing to put his money where his mouth is. You'll be up there next season and you'll make the Premier League sooner rather than later I imagine.

Like I said, I don't think any club in this league will meet his valuation, but if you or anyone else did I'd wish him well.

Just to come back to this...

He played in one friendly against Hungary who are ranked 20 in the world, and then scored in an AFCON qualifier.

Don't know how much to read into this but a work colleague of mine who lives close to Jim O'Brien reckons he is looking for a move back to South Yorkshire with one of the local clubs interested. Can't see it being Wednesday so one of us, Rotherham, Sheff Utd or Doncaster. Don't think he'd be too keen to drop down into league 2 either so I'd rule out Doncaster.

Fucking hell Kodija could score goals in ligue 2, it's the equivalent of our league two.

JCH has attitude problems, thinks he's a gangster. The right guidance (which hopefully Stubbs will provide) and you'll see him being sought after premier league clubs, simple.

We've been told we'll be relegated for two seasons in a row now, the uneducated spout that without thinking. Before our money issues in the mid 2000's we were cementing ourselves as a championship club, despite being at Millmoor with far less than what we have now. What you're seeing at Rotherham now is Tony Stewart finishing off the job Ronnie Moore and Ken Booth started a decade again, cementing ourselves as a championship club. We will only prosper going forward, relegation won't happen unless a simila financial collapse happens (where there is a slim to non chance of that happening). You can name an amount, I'll accept.

World rankings mean fuck all.

Kari Arnason has been a mainstay in the Iceland squad for years who beat a Dutch team (ranked higher than Hungary) didn't see us asking fo £20m from Malmo.

You'll not show me any goal better than Derbyshire's at your place this season, guaranteed.

There is a reason, he's simply not worth it. Wait till he gets homesick, you'll be happy with a million.

£10m would buy a stand a quarter of the ground you imbecile.

Ligue 2 is of a higher standard than the SPL, and you tugged yourself silly the other day at the prospect of Kris Commons signing, which was then rubbished.

I'd check soccerbase out.

Is it fuck, have you any comprehension of the size of the clubs in that division? There's conference sides who'd fit in.
