Mawson to Bristol City, Flint to Sunderland. We are all connected in the great circle of life....
True Craig.
That announcement by your CEO didn't sound too positive for you fella. I actually feel quite guilty that it's us potentially taking players away as it's a decent side you've got at Oakwell.

No what? Sunderland will get their man, and really you'd have to be a bit of a scummy club to prevent a player progressing to the top of their sport.

We know that Craig. IF we are actually after him, we won't baulk at paying a decent fee WTGR.
The CEO's comment would suggest you can't compete with the wages on offer 'elsewhere' which sounds like the likes of Hammill may be leaving unless the pull of the club is that large that he will accept much lower wages to stay. Do you read it the same way?
No disrespect to BFC by the way.

No worries bud. Hammill has been offered a contract. Either he accepts or he doesn't. If he does great. If he doesn't best of luck to him elsewhere.

Wednesday have some serious cash behind them like you guys but look a much better prospect for promotion from a neutral point of view.

If they pay for him no-one could begrudge the man a move (Flint) to to the top flight. Just hope the fee is right.

On the subject of Kodjia, no side in this league would meet our valuation of him anyway so I'm not really that worried about him leaving. Again, if a top flight club come in and offer what we want them who are we to stand in the way of a player going to the top flight and furthering themselves?

Can't argue with what either of you said there.

Im sure SERNWA will try by saying something like Matt Derbyshire is better

What would your valuation be btw roughly? £5-6m?

Could see a couple of clubs coughing that up TBH.

Double that.

Seriously. Look at his company in the goalscoring charts this season. Gray, Hernandez, McCormack. £9m, £8m, £11m respectively. Kodjia scored 20 goals over here in his first season in a very poor side that went through a spell of scoring 3 goals in 21 from open play.

We don't need to sell, we certainly won't be letting him go on the cheap. We turned down over £6m for Maynard a few years ago, I'd suggest that Kodjia has a much brighter future in the game than Maynard does.

Kodjia is not a £10m plus player JJ, arguably £7/8m tops if he grabs a couple more for national team if they have any more games. He'd command a similar if slightly less fee than Andre Gray did after one season in the championship which was what £6m with up to £3m in add ons?

I don't think he's worth £10m+ as a player, but that's his value to us and I'd be disappointed if we sold for anything less than what Gray went for with all the add ons cashed in.

Like I said, I don't think a team in this division would cough up enough for him. Possibly Newcastle or Villa? Apart from them two I doubt it. Kodjia will play in the PL the season after next if he doesn't go this summer I imagine.

£7m plus and we'd sell easy, it would represent tripling what we paid for him in one season. Very good business, however I think we'd try and bring in a striker first, whether that Mousset guy or someone else.

He's worth £10M to us. I couldn't care less if he's worth £1M, he's under contract so £10M or do one! We / SL can afford to say no. Imagine he gets 20+ next year.

Agreed. He kept us within reach for the first half of last season.

There's no need to cash in on him for less than £10m, he's got two years left on his deal. We don't need the money, we'll be using the Gray/McCormack/Rhodes/Hernandez deals as a benchmark if clubs want to negotiate for him.

He's no Joe Mason...

As much as I slated Mason when we first signed him, he hasn't been too bad in all honesty. Jackett has hardly played him, but the few chances he gets he has had a decent goal return for us. Under the right management he could be a solid player in this league.

Too good for League 1 and reckon he'll be class in this league too. Board have confirmed that we will be trying to bring him back on loan.

You must be trying to reel em in with that one.

Their answer to a shite season this year is to raid 6th place in league one Barnsley.

There's more chance of us going up than them.

Wednesday will be up there with Villa and Newcastle all season.

Kodija worth £10m+

Oh my fucking god. When I thought they couldn't get any more deluded.

He's not in the same league as Gray/McCormack/Rhodes/Hernandez the first three are British which adds a premium and in the case of McCormack and Rhodes scored 20+ goals continuously at this level for years, not a one off season.

Hernandez is in a league of his own signed as a PL player (something Kodija will never be), scored in seria a and a Uruguayan international, not some tinpot African shithole.

Then if you consider Hooper and Forrestieri were signed for £3m a peice and we've got small time Bristol City fans wanting £10m+ for a potential one season wonder? It beggars belief it truly does.

Your owners would settle for £5m and be fucking grateful.

It's kind of sad that you have to pretend to have mates that work

Don't need to pretend anything, embarrassing that your using a false stereotype of the north.

Believe it or not in the north you'll find the most hardworking people in the country and a lot of the work done up here keeps you southern pricks running.

Down in yokel country, I know raking leaves for your dad constitutes as work due to intelligence levels in your populous with all the inbreeding
that goes off, but it's a different story up here.

Matt Derbyshire scored the best goal you'll see at Ashton Gate all season and you should be grateful you got to see it.

Has £10m+ man Kodija been able to leave world beater Richard Wood's pocket from that game yet?

Lol Steve

Kodjia is a great player & the fee will be depending on the terms of his contract.

What is to the fans a 10 mill price tag isn't always the real story.
You have previous sell on fees, buying out of that fee etc etc.
