Marlon Pack's dad put this on Facebook. No shock to me, I said we wouldn't sign Tomlin from the beginning. Don't get me wrong I think he'd like to join but we are too stingy on wages and always have been. Offer huge fees and then not back it up in wages.

Worst thing about that is the Gary O'Neil part...

Nixon revealing very vague info hasn't fucked anything up. If stuff getting leaked was such a major problem then no transfer would ever be completed. You think United/Arsenal would pull out of the Ibra/Vardy deals because of a few rumours in the press? In that case your Commons deal would also be instantly fucked, after all that was leaked.

If we want Tomlin we'll get him but clearly we are too tight on wages.

Speculating about fees has done you over, he said £1.5m, that will have alerted other clubs, they've had a word with his agent promised him x and y and in doing so fucked up Bristol's chances of signing him.

Tomlin himself laughed at the £1.5m reported fee on Twitter..

Even if you are right, I wouldn't blame Nixon. I'd blame the City fans on Twitter that constantly bombarded him asking for updates *JJH* *cough*

yeah, he's far too good to be linked with the likes of Bristol City.

18k a week on 33 year old when we're fine in centre midfield, yet not forking out for Tomlin is kind of the point I was making.

Hull have supposedly bid for Oliver Norwood. With Burnley, Swansea, Bournemouth and Celtic all interested.

£3m+ and i'd be happy. He is one of our best players, but doesn't really play to our "strengths". It'll be more cost effective to sell him and bring in a decent replacement rather than buying more players who can suit his style of play.

Burnley - along with Hull & Celtic - being linked with £1.5 million move for Oliver Norwood.

Norwood actually supports Burnley for his sins.:)

Edit: Oops! sorry posted before I saw earlier posting.

Oliver was born in Burnley, but he supports Man Utd. I should know we were mates at school.

Get on OTIB man, been a good read at work.
I've had a look and after ploughing through the waffle, it appears Nixon has been tweeting about City and Tomlin (he's a journalist so that's his job), something he has tweeted has upset little Lee (don't see that Nixon has done anything wrong as he has no loyalty to BCFC) and Tomlin is getting married today. Oh yeah, Marlon Packs' old man isn't happy and we're supposedly offering Gary O'Neill £18K a week (can't see that at all).
Earth shattering, can someone help me out here as I can't see why Nixon has cost us a deal with Tomlin unless I have to go back pages and pages on OTIB or something?

So we're not prepared to give Tomlin Premier League wages and we've offered Pack and Smith a pay rise. What's wrong with that exactly?

Because, like with last summer we are happy to throw around massive bids but when it comes to wages we expect to do it on the cheap.

I don't care if Lansdown doesn't want to pay the money, that's up to him, but it annoys me when he put in huge bids for players (as he will have done with Tomlin) only to decide we'll offer him less than he's currently on, what's the point? Don't bother bidding in the first place.

Meaning Nixon talks shit? the point I've been making all along.
So him being the one to break the news means he chat shit?

If anything it's proved you wrong again, in that he gets stuff right for us. He was the first to break the news AGAIN.

He then went onto say this is normal in negotiations and not to sweat over it, as they'll keep going at it.

It's not over yet, they'll keep going at it. It may even be done, but the scepticism is because of what Pack's dad posted on Facebook (before deleting it and deleting his account), but even so he couldn't spell Tomlin's name correctly, and the fact he thinks we won't pay Tomlin's wage but we'll pay £18k per week for a 33 year old is a bit daft.

Lansdown knows that if Tomlin goes to another club and we start poorly next season fans will turn on him. We'll see. Probably won't hear anything for the next two weeks, given the fact he's just gone on his holibobs.

Anyway, more to the point; why're you on OTIB? You sad, obsessive fucker.

Like Aaron said, we'll know what Tomlin's on. I wouldn't read too much into it, there's more to come with this yet.

My frustration WOULD (if this deal doesn't materialise) be the fact that we've sold nearly 17,000 STs (that's including corporate, so not all STs strictly speaking) and he's still not coughing up the coin. This is a massive summer, SL could lose a lot of admirers if he fucks it up.
