I'd say we need to branch out, yeah. There have been a lot of posters that have come and gone, fortunately a few stick around like you, SF, Mark etc who are all very good posters.

I'll speak to Saddlerrad and AFCB_Mark and see if there's anything we can do to potentially try and find a few new posters via social media or something similar. Hold the thought...

We are always trying to branch out further, on all forms of Social Media. The site is currently ranking Number 1/2 in Google for football forum searches and most things related. Things will naturally continue to snowball over time. Considering we only have 2,500 odd members, this is probably the busiest generic football forum anywhere on the internet.

If needs be, we can have a 'Bristol City Thread' but nobody needs to worry about stopping posting, it applies both ways and with all clubs/posters - there is an ignore button available on the forum if there is too much chatter about one specific club or a poster in particular that you don't wish to interact with.

Hope that helps all parties.

Personally, I don't want every thread to become about Bristol City, but that doesn't happen very often, and the reason I'm here is to talk about other clubs, and it's much better to have lots of fans from one club than none.

The City fans on here in general are great. They think waaaay too highly of Flint, but otherwise they're good folk. They're one of the more interesting clubs to hear / talk about, interesting ownership and management structure.

Sometimes they need to tone down the thread domination they can have, but to be fair a lot of them have been making a conscious effort to avoid this and things have definitely improved! I'm glad they are here instead of not.

So a thread gets hijacked by other fans stating Flint isn't very good, posting videos ect, City fans post their opinion and we are hijacking the thread? Righteo....

Anyway it's gone quiet for us, probably due to us being away. All got a bit boring.

As for Che Adams, I wouldn't get too excited if it was us signing him. Strange one, thought Newcastle would be looking for better.

From what we've heard we are still waiting on Jake Forster Caskey to sign for us from Brighton. The deal has been put back by a few days because apparently some sad, fat bastard and sexually frustrated Rotherham fan went down to Brighton, stripped naked and deliberately caused a scene in the area to delay the traffic. So because of that JFC could not get out of Brighton and up here in time.

Some people eh.

We're now linked with Exeter's Ollie Watkins. Don't know much about him other than he's a supposedly good young player. Trust the board regarding transfers.
Saw this earlier on Twitter.

Tbh he's got a great load of potential and did really well at back end of last season scoring something like 8 goals in 15 games but you can see he's still quite raw and would really benefit from regular L2 games for at least one more season. He's pretty quick and has good feet plus likes a goal from distance, he's a real talent.

Can't see him making an impact for you straight away, however if he scores a shed load this coming season his value would rocket considering he's only 19 and is youth product, so perhaps you want to get in early. Bournemouth also rumoured to be sniffing around.

Every player has a price and I reckon a bit of 500-750k would be tough to turn down if there were good add ons. Trouble is we could rebuff any offers and he could be worth double that next summer, if not more.

Replacement for McCormack or lined up to play alongside?

If someone is willing to pay the big cheddar for Ross then we will sell I imagine. I hope not but I can't get the club turning down £13-15m which is what I would expect it to be. I am sure we have turned down bids up to that already over the last 12 months. The guy is class

Lee Ryder from the Chronicle now claiming we expect to tie up the Hanley deal in the next day or two. Is he even that good for there to have been a saga?

I'm just glad it's you splashing silly money on him and not us.

Forster-Caskey confirmed on a season long loan, view to a permanent if he can settle up north. Southern puff.

Liam Moore should be next on another season long loan.

All of our trialists have been released.

I genuinely think one of the biggest oppositions you will have for him signing on a perm next season is if we get promoted or not. I think we'd have a really good chance of signing him if we are promoted, only time will tell though.

JFC will easily be one of your best players, superb midfielder.

An unnamed Championship Club have had a bid rejected for him now - but haven't heard anything further to suggest it is ourselves.

Also told that the Lucas - Wijnaldum + Cash is codswallop as we just want lump cash deal.
Lastly, Hanley fee agreed which is expected to be £5.5M, which I'm happy about.

Is Hanley really a £5m+ player?

Seems capable enough at this level but so is Mike Williamson, has age on his side but should Newcastle get promoted then I think Hanley will find himself back down here pretty sharpish.

At least it gives us a marking point if we come to sell Bailey Wright in the near future.

Genuinely couldn't tell you mate - I know very little about him but we simply need defenders of any discernible quality so it's a box ticked ha!
In all honesty, I won't be satisfied until we get a couple more in. We only have 2 CB's, 2 RB's and 2LB's - what with more league games and one or two cup games in there, we'll be pretty knackered come Dec/Jan.

Underwhelmed with the Jazz Richards signing, Malone leaving means we don't have any left sided players that can defend. Still, in Trollope we trust, I'm sure he has Bale/Ramsey lined up with his Welsh connections!

Sure Jazz Richards will go down well considering he is ex Swansea too :err:

Surprised you think this mate, 12 goals last season from what I believe was attacking midfield, just turned 20. Outstanding talent.

Depends on how this season goes, he's coming initially on loan to see if he can settle up north and if he can theres a fee agreed at the end of the season.

If it goes well this season you'd have to go all out to sign him.
