Get some more Wednesday folk on here you bastard!
Shouldn't need to, this is a generic forum not OTIB 2, you have your own thread to discuss your club and players FFS.

Most of us use this place to escape our own clubs forums.

You weren't complaining when it was a chance to say how shit we are.
I haven't called you shit.

Edited as the response was unwarranted to City169, apologies

Seems I'm not the stupid prick here.

I don't recall calling any of your players shit, so feel free to dig that out.

Again, I didn't say that you did- in fact I remember you posted that you'd possibly have Flint- but that a fair few people were. At the time the majority of the posts were about Bristol City, yet there's no complaint. However when me and one other have 2-3 posts about the depth at centre back you started complaining.

Forgot the word possibly

I said the majority of you squad were actually bog standard Championship players, I stand by that, I'd say plenty of our squad were the same.

I complained when 19/25 posts on this page were by city fans about Flint it's tedious pal, you won't agree and that's fair enough but this isn't OTIB it's not a free second City forum for you lot.

I have no issue on how much anyone rates our players, that's what opinions are about.
I agree it's tedious, I was just highlighting that the complaint was when the posts saying Flint was shit had stopped, and when it was actual discussion instead. I don't act like its a second City forum, and try to add where I can, but as a City fan I'm naturally going to be posting more about our club as it's what I know most about. More to the point I'm put off of posting in general when every other time I'm on here there's someone moaning about us being on here. I signed up to the old forum when we were bottom of League 1 and migrated to here the summer after it closed but because of the negative shit towards us on here I am put off.

Sure in your eyes that probably great because that's one less yokels posts for you to read, but on the other hand if we had more fans from other clubs on here it wouldn't be such an issue.

No it's not, but there's probably more of us on here when than all the other clubs put together, and I do usually move the posts to the BCFC thread if it's off topic, but I've literally just got home.

Don't you dare stop posting City169. It's hardly our fault that there are loads of us and not many supporters of other clubs.
I agree that for the likes of Walkley, who is a regular and decent contributor, it must be quite annoying but I can't see what we can do about it. We keep lots of stuff on the City thread but, as you say, everything seems to be jumped on as soon as one of us posts nowadays.
As I'm at home, recuperating from yet another arm op, that isn't helping and I will try not to post too much City related stuff but i enjoy this forum and don't intend to annoy anyone (well 1 or 2 maybe).

I don't want any City fan to stop posting but perhaps some could be a little more mindful that we don't all want to read about happenings in BS3.

Isn't that a damning indictment of your own forum?

I'd say we need to branch out, yeah. There have been a lot of posters that have come and gone, fortunately a few stick around like you, SF, Mark etc who are all very good posters.

I'll speak to Saddlerrad and AFCB_Mark and see if there's anything we can do to potentially try and find a few new posters via social media or something similar. Hold the thought...

On a day when JCH was confirmed to be out for 6-9 months and 34 year old superstar Dean Whitehead turned us down to sit on Huddersfield's bench there's some light at the end of it Jake Forster-Caskey has agreed to join us.

What happened to all these "done and dusted" signings from over the last few weeks?

To bring it back to transfer news (and yes I know I was one who helped it get away from transfer news in the first place...) David Button has signed for Fulham. He was absolutely superb in our first season at this level, and amazing the rest of the time too, easily in the top 5 keepers in the division last year. It's a blow, but Bentley looks a good replacement, happy to make some money and in return get a great young prospect.

Now only two players left from our 14/15 side, with Judge probably also not likely to play much for us / at all again. Wouldn't have thought Dean would be the last one left. Massive shame but the club have made not far off £30m in transfer fees, and we still look a decent outfit (though nowhere near as good as we did), so can't complain too much.

£9m Gray to Burnley
£6.5m Tarkowski to Burnley
£3.5m Odubajo to Hull
£2m Button to Fulham
£2m Bidwell to QPR
£1.5m Dallas to Leeds
£1m Jota (loan fee) to Eibar
£1m Grigg to Wigan
£1m Diagouraga to Leeds
£400k Mawson to Barnsley

Definitely let Bidwell and Dallas go for too little, but given they were down to the last year of their contracts it could have been worse. Massively miss Jota, due to his and Judge's injuries we've easily missed out on another couple of £6-7m transfer fees.

We're now linked with Exeter's Ollie Watkins. Don't know much about him other than he's a supposedly good young player. Trust the board regarding transfers.

Don't get me started.

Forster-Caskey is signing anyway and that was one of em.

Bradshaw and Gregory had personally agreed to sign but our incompetent board and owner refused to fork out for em.

It's a start. Was good at MK, should be alright for you. Better option than Whitehead, albeit it a completely different player.

Commons TBA on deadline day.

2 million for Button is pretty good money considering he was going to be out of contract next summer.

A signing is enough for me at the minute, had enough of the bullshit spouted by Tony Stewart and his cronies though as is most of the fanbase, something big needs to happen for us to be back on side.

Commons has been on the back burner for weels now but I can only see it happening now if we get exrememly desperate on deadline day like you say.

Underwhelmed with the Jazz Richards signing, Malone leaving means we don't have any left sided players that can defend. Still, in Trollope we trust, I'm sure he has Bale/Ramsey lined up with his Welsh connections!

Potentially, but as I said at the time his wages will be ridiculous, it'd be a very expensive gamble for you to take given Stewart wouldn't put his hand into his pocket for another couple of hundred grand to sign Bradshaw.

You've got one good signing in now to set the ball rolling, may well see another few come in before the 6th of August.

For what it's worth I'm glad we've kept Whitehead, rather have him that give him to a rival. Definitely rather have him on our bench than another teams line up. Still a very solid player despite being 34 now, hopefully turn into a coaching role at some point.

In all the commotion of the pro/anti Bristol City; everyone must have missed the news linking us to Che Adams and him apparently withdrawing from their squad. Don't all thank me at once.

Anything less than £2m on Che Adams would be a steal.
