Yep. I'm a bit late to the party it seems bit local sources claim we're in advanced talks with him. Heavily linked with him a couple years back when he was one of the top scorers in the bundesliga - God knows how we're going to pull this off.

Dost, Gayle and Mitro... can we have Ayoze then?

I must admit, he's struggled so far this season. I like him but if Dost does come (still think unlikely) there's going to be a real competition for places which I think he'll come of worst in.

Feel sorry for Adam Armstrong. He needs to wake up and get out of Newcastle before they ruin his career.

he's a 19 year old kid about to go on, what i'm assuming will be, his second season long loan, having raised his profile on the back of being a big success in league 1 last season. he's hardly rotting away doing nothing.

I think the point is more that with the options you currently have, and seem to be looking to add to, there's not a likely point in the next 2-3 years, possibly longer, where he will make a breakthrough. And will he be happy being shipped out on loan somewhere every season?
Of course if he has an absurdly good season that may change and he may get a chance quicker, but with Mitrovic, Gayle, Perez, Gouffran, Rivière and Ameobi who can all play as a striker, plus A. N. Other, the chances of him playing up front for you in the next few years are slim.

Gouffran and Rivière are on their way out and Ameobi is a winger. Once he gets more game time elsewhere he'd be ahead of Perez as a striker as well. It's only Mitro/Gayle who are ahead of him.

Oh and as far as Villa's Dr is concerned - does anyone else think that full ownership transparency is a terrible idea. There's very few occasions where you're not made to look like an arse. Same applies for David Gold too.

Alan Judge rumoured to be off to Newcastle. Big risk if they sign him whilst he's recovering from a bad injury but they'll be getting a bargain if he comes back the player he was.

Romain Saiss close to signing from Angers in France. Moroccan international defensive midfielder who was their player of the season last year.

Apparently Villa want him too.

They're actual fucking mongs.

Tbf only one guy has suggested it. Saw a couple on Twitter the other day discussing it though.
 Funny thing is, that comment about it being shared on every BRFC forum is probably true :lol::lol:

Funny season continues. Now linked with Asamoah Gyan on loan. Won't happen. I will take anyone right now. We need at least five players to add to our squad

If we can get some decent money for him, then it's a great deal all round. If not injured he easily could have got us £6-8m this summer, anything north of £4m including add ons and I think we should take it.

I think he'd be a great player for them as well. Single handedly was keeping us up at one point last year, phenomenal player.

Some rumours it could involve us taking Armstrong on loan.

We are not going to get £4m for a player out with a broken leg in the last year of his contract. I think it will be more like £1m at a push.

I've heard £1.5M is a what's been offered so if that's the case, I'm happy to take the risk. I'd also be delighted if AA were to go the other way on loan as well, especially if we're serious about getting Bas Dost.

We might as well keep him then IMO. He'll be better than any premier league loanee we can get to replace him, and those all cost £1-1.5m these days, so financially it makes no sense unless it's more than that. Anything less than £3m would be crazy in my eyes, and I wouldn't sell for less than £4m. Arguably the best player in the league last season. We've been good at negotiating fees in the past, don't think we'd settle for less.

He'll have had no pre-season and could very easily pick up a fair few niggling injuries upon his return. There's not an awful lot of certainty in him having any serious impact on our first team until Feb. During that period we'd be spending a fortune on his wages. I'd definitely take the £1.5m+, a loanee from Newcastle and focus on what we can build immediately. Neither Hogan nor McLeod featured any time close to their expected return date, loads of risk in Judge not doing the same. AJ is worth far more than £1.5m in a normal scenario, unfortunately this isn't a normal scenario.

Should do very well for you at championship level and if you get back in the prem would make a good attacking fb/wingback option. The defensive side of his game isn't right up there, but he's very fast and helps out the forward options well. At the time he was replaced with Simpson in our side most people couldn't understand why he wasn't straight back in the side after getting over a small injury. Good decision in hindsight, but shows that he wasn't really a player people wanted or expected to miss out on the starting positions and later the squad.

Also scored a goal that I felt was very important in the context of our season, the first in the comeback win vs you.

Haillay already covered the flaws in this post. But to add to it... there's every chance he'll make his breakthrough in our team the next 2-3 years, that's what the club is aiming for. He's highly rated by our coaching staff and obviously we'd like him to succeed in black and white but he needs to be playing regular first team football to carry on his development at the moment. He's not ready to play for us every week and that's why we're going to loan him out again. Loaning out promising young players who aren't quite ready is not something unique to us. Again, he's a 19 year old kid with his whole career ahead of him. Is playing regular first team football really ruining his career? I'd argue it's quite the opposite and warming the bench for us while making the odd appearance is far more likely to be a detriment to his development.
