You sure you got anything at all for Adomah considering the deal was a straight swap for Adamah Traore?
Think in case of a player exchange something do with establishing player value dictates how much club with the clause receives, or at least its what I think I read somewhere.

Hard to say, good player who didn't fit in with our tactics the last couple of seasons, but would be more suited this year. He slowed the game down a lot but we now play the slower possession style anyway. Swift is clearly an upgrade and our new creative player/set piece taker which was Norwood's role. Evans does the deeper role as well as Norwood too, with the option of playing at CB if desperate. Maybe we miss his experience? - our midfield is very inexperienced with Swift, Evans and Kelly all 21 and younger.

Another CM in January wouldn't go amiss, and we have been linked with Jordon Mutch. Would love Tshibola back from Villa as he doesn't seem to be getting time there and would be an upgrade on Williams. A fit Tshibola is far superior to a fit Norwood.

Norwood was frustrating because he was trying too delicate a pass most of the time. George Evans is a very underrated player, been very impressed with him.

We're ready to make a move for Henri Lansbury according to the Nottingham Post.

Sounds about right. Some journalists were saying £6m+ including one of Palace's local ones but we'll never know as I bet the payments are staggered.

Also received money for Ayling, Agard, Williams etc so we aren't short on money.
Blimey, I had forgotten about them. That's probably well over another £1M then.
Finding the right player is the test though. Time for Des to show his prowess I suppose and tell LJ / MA who's the best fit, if he hasn't already.
Our problem is that other clubs know our owner is minted plus we've got a few quid in the bank and a vastly higher turnover than previously. I fear we may be held to ransom a bit, the same as we did to Villa with Kodjia.

Come on then, own up? He said he wouldn't join another Championship club and then...

Lukas Jutkiewicz has joined us permanently now, rather than just on loan, for £1m.

Magic/KevinMcallister what's happened to Diagouraga? As unambitious as it sounds I'd be more than happy to take your fifth choice central midfielder or whatever he is, would be exactly what we need in the middle.

You signed our second choice right back and look how that worked out, reckon that would be a sensible and affordable deal.
Won't play for us again. Clearly doesn't fit in with Monk or there's a falling out (possibly both). Was reasonably decent last year (albeit in an inferior side) but was forced to play CB to cover in pre-season. Started at QPR on the opening day and I don't think he's made a squad since? Not even in the cup. As frozen out as you can be really.

I'm sure he'll pick a club up in January.

Would take him back here if he dropped his wage demands to what we were paying him before

What a great shout that is given LJ's comments about Kaliffe Cisse today. I could see that happening TBH.

Good signing, with some of the fees being thrown around now I think 1m for him is very good business.

Indeed - if he keeps his head down and works very hard, he could be as good as Geoff Horsfield.

Lansbury to Burnley.

Read West Brom in for Hogan.

Talk around the club is we're resigned to Hogan leaving this January, but hope that the sheer number of teams interested in him drives up the price a lot, similar to the Gray deal.

Not expecting any other first team players to leave really. Kerschbaummer is surplus to requirements now so will be moved back to Austria in all likelihood, we'll likely make a small profit on the original deal.

Now Rico Henry and Tom Field are nearing fitness again, Calum Elder will also be sent back to Leicester.

Hofmann is available to any club willing to pay what we paid for him, shame that he didn't work out as he seemed to have some talent about him early doors, but is shot of all confidence now. Doubt we'll get any offers so might be stuck with him for a while.

As far as incoming players go, it really depends on a couple of factors. If Jota returns (some noise that he might) and Judge & Rico Henry are back and fit, then we suddenly look a much stronger outfit, and might try to make a push for the play offs with a couple of extra signings, and even try to keep Hogan for another 6 months.

If Jota doesn't return, Judge or Hogan get sold and we have a few more bad results, we'll save the money for the summer and try to ride the season out.

Oh, and the club have given Macleod, who is out injured for the next 6-8 months with a long term injury, a 12 month contract extension so he doesn't come back from injury in a contract year, having the added pressure of potentially needing to find a new club. Did the same thing with Hogan a couple of years ago, really classy move by the club.

Hmmm. I don't think we'll take anything less than £13m, but that's a decent bid to start the bidding war!

We received £9.5m in total for Gray and with Kodjia going for silly amounts, I reckon we could hold out for more than £9m as he's a better striker than both. Only downside if 18 months on his contract, but the crazy amounts of money being spent on players nowadays should mean that's not a problem. £15m+ please :)

Villa have supposedly bid £500k for Alan Judge as well. Steal that would be.

Don't understand the obsession with comparing Hogan to Kodjia's fee, we rinsed Villa for him due to various circumstances. McCormack was bought for £12m, a striker who has scored plenty at this level, maybe compare Hogan's fee to his?

I think the positive circumstance that we have in our favour concerning Hogan is that there may be a bidding war. I'd compare Hogan to Kodjia more than to McCormack given Kodjia and (potentially) Hogan are both going for big fees after ~1 season at this level, whereas McCormack has now played for four clubs in the Champ and is a seasoned pro... Both Kodjia and Hogan are on their way up and teams are playing for potential as well as immediate impact.

I don't get your obsession with thinking there should be no comparison at all? How else do you value something than finding comparable items to assign a similar value to?

Anyway, I'd argue pretty much every circumstance for Hogan compares favourably to the situation with Kodija, so, maybe we shouldn't be comparing and we should be demanding much more.
