He said they were after a world class striker and they went and signed Jonathan Kodjia.
Didn't say we were going to sign one, he said we were trying. Though his classification of world class is a little off if he believed that Abel Hernandez was/is world class.

This was exactly where my mind went.

Amavi got put on his arse by Hadi Sacko.

Then I realise Sacko has a 60m release clause so £25m sounds about right :hesk:

"Dr Xia tweeted: "Today Gabby asked to talk to me and Roberto Di Matteo together.

"We've offered the best solution to him and club let him think about it."

"We'll find a club loan him playing for one season to see whether he really can be fully fit and then back playing for us.

"Gabby realized he did wrong things for past years and working hard trying to fit but surely can't catch up games now."

Roll on a few months later when Agbonlahor isn't one of the hated Richards/Lescott crowd and he's playing most weeks including the Boxing Day match.

And he did get offered a loan move. Which he rejected. Bruce has now decided to give him another chance.

There is also very little love between himself and Villa fans too, with the majority (including myself) asking how the hell he is getting in the team. The fans aren't as disgruntled as last season though for obvious reason thus the reason he's not one of the 'hated Richards/Lescott crowd', Richards has also been given the benefit of the doubt (when he's actually played) by our fans too.

Don't be suprised if you see Arnason coming back to NYS on loan for the rest of the season along with ALF and Craig Morgan.

Chuffed with the CM signing just the type of winger we've been crying out for, that bit of pace added to what we already have is going to make a massive difference. Also looks like Marco Matias could be leaving on a loan deal, that's if he can ever get over this never ending injury.

Must be something about him surely? Maybe playing within the poisonous atmosphere at Charlton has ruined his confidence? We're also supposedly looking at Callum Patterson at Hearts.

Patterson was injured the other day and looks like he's out for about 10 months.

Ben Pearson has just signed a new 3 1/2 year deal with us, better than any signing we could have made in January. Will definetly play higher one day.

It's possible but not so sure.

Nothing against the fella as it's obvious he wants to do well and I'll wish him well wherever he ends up but he truly is a pitiful footballer/defender.

He can't defend anything, crosses, long balls, pace, he gets beaten by everything. His positional awareness is probably the worst I've ever seen, the amount of times we have conceded because he either can't defend his wing or has been caught out of position is insane and his marking? You might aswell forget about it - he does.

Like I say, all the best but if you're serious about the play-offs or even the PL you need to be seriously looking at far, far better players than Morgan Fox.

I'd love to see Morgan sign for you purely to witness the meltdown it would cause amongst dramatic Wigan fans. ALF's on a season long loan with us so unless the loan can be terminated he's going nowhere. Hopefully it can be terminated though, he doesn't play and probably has decent wages.

Tom Barclay saying that Derby are close for Lansbury and Rhodes. Big fuck you to FFP there.

FFP showed everyone in football how much they bottled it with the QPR case. I don't think anyone takes it seriously anymore after that.

I'm still waiting for QPR to be punished, three years later.

Can't see us wanting Lansbury to be honest. Our midfield is ok as it is.

Surely, unless the R's fine is followed up, there's a legal precedent to say 'balls' to FFP? If the EFL tried to instigate a fine on someone else, the courts would hammer them now wouldn't they?

Heard from a pretty good source that we will be in administration by the end of the season if a new owner isn't sought.

Club just about paid the players wages in November. Prospective Chinese owners are stalling because of FL/PL concerns on whether they are fit and proper. If true, Jaap Stam is doing an incredible job considering the club might not exist come May.

We are being linked with Sako (old wolves player). Any good? Can't remember much about him if I'm honest.
Very, reckon he'll go back to Wolves if anyone in this division though.

Surprised it hasn't worked out for him at Palace.

They've been giving big fuck yous to FFP for a while now

Not really, only the last 12 months. We've pissed the criteria in the previous two years despite spending loads.
There will be absolute scenes if we don't fail FFP this year.

I think all Derby fans thought we were going to be close this season FFP wise but we didn't net spend in the summer thanks to sales. Rhodes and Lansbury will be a nail in the coffin though.
At the same time, if Rhodes is coming in then that 99% confirms Chris Martin's departure in January to Fulham IMO, not sure what the buy out is but it'll be north of 6 million pounds.

I don't want either Lansbury or Rhodes to be honest. I didn't want Vydra or Anya. Oh well, it is what it is.
