What he lacks in technical ability, he makes up for with tenacity and bite. I would rather we kept him but I don't think he's gonna suit Zola's style.
It's the sort of midfielder we need, and whenever I've seen him for you lot I've always liked the attitude and commitment he shows.

We've also been linked down here with Greg Halford, Abdoul Camara and Paul Anderson.
We desperately need a centre half for when Manga goes to the AFCON, a bastard in the middle of a park, a pacy winger and someone that can put the ball in the bastard net.

We've made a bid for James Tarkowski, but looks like we'll be rejected.

We've got a sell on clause in Tarkowski's transfer, but I can't imagine he'll go for a profit. That said, we're owed north of £1m if Burnley stay up this season as part of that transfer, so it would be interesting to see what would happen should he leave before Burnley stay up!

Nathan Byrne and Craig Davies off to League One clubs, Byrne I'm assuming to Charlton while Davies I'd imagine will be a North West club like Bury or Rochdale. League One clubs are trying to sign Le Fondre so I'm assuming that Cardiff have recalled him although nothing has been announced. Pictures of Morrison training at Euxton have been leaked today as well.

Some side gossip, was having a peak on Charlton's forum to see if they'd heard anything their end about Byrne and found out that they apparently paid 1.5m for Jason Pearce! Now I wasn't happy with us selling him and to be honest we've missed him, but having found out how much we've allegedly got for him I can fully understand why we did it.

Why is Byrne leaving already? He's hardly been given a chance, and if you do get relegated he'd be outstanding in L1 as he was for Swindon.

Think it would just have been a loan mate.

Halfords gone, said it yesterday.

100k agreed.

Blackwell gets the best out of Halford, when he's on it, he's outstanding.

2 1/2 year deal, 500k being the rumoured fee, seems good business. New spine of a team bought already in this window. Not sure how many signings Johnson is targeting.

Good luck to the lad, hope it works out for him.

Need to reinvest this money towards a decent striker.

Bailey Wright confirmed. Sad to see him go as he was my favourite player for a few years and he's probably our most talented centre back but he goes with my best wishes and I hope he does well for Bristol City.
Talk about moving for money and not your career

Says who?

You do realise that two of our strikers are Jordan Hugill and Eoin Doyle don't you?

Bristol city are a far better prospect than us though, they have an owner willing to back them to the premier league (not slating TH, he's been brilliant for us) and they're a very good club. It's a short career, need to make as much money as he can to secure his and his family's futures. Fair play to him.

They're not.

Piss money away on foreigners with a shite manager and despite how much money they spend still find themselves in a relegation battle every year.

I'd stay at Preston anyday of the week.

Four players we've signed from abroad, and all the transfer fees amount to less than half of what we got for selling on one of them (Kodjia). Not bad if you look at it like that.

It'll come together eventually, with or without LJ.

What's Garita and that Swedish kid done for you? Piss all and that's all that counts.

We have released Lex Immers, shame really as when he was on loan last season he was outstanding. Seemed to all fall apart once he signed a permanent deal though.

Garita cost £50k ffs, and is out on loan gaining experience.

Engvall's hardly featured. By contrast, Magnusson's played nearly every game this season. We shall see how these two new lads get on but they'll be straight into the first team.

Garita cost £50K and was publicly called a 'punt' by Steve Cotterill. It's hardly a large sum to risk on a gamble WTGR.
The Swedish kid is exactly that, a KID. He was purchased (towing the club line here) with an eye on the future. Personally, I'm not taken in by that but that's the club line. What we've seen of him has been decent but I would have expected to see more of him TBH.

As much as I think he's starting to improve again and would like him to stick around, if he's not going to sign a new deal you can't reject that, three times what we paid Preston for Wright. Covers most of our paid fees so far this window.

I don't see it as a good career move, short term financially yes but this deal stinks of his new agent getting a cut. Surely it would have been best for him to sit out the remainder of his contract and sign for somebody in the summer with a bigger signing on fee and more choice of clubs.

Glad we've got a fee for him though and we've already got his replacement at the club so we'll be ok.

They call that "doing an Adebayor"
