I don't see it as a good career move, short term financially yes but this deal stinks of his new agent getting a cut. Surely it would have been best for him to sit out the remainder of his contract and sign for somebody in the summer with a bigger signing on fee and more choice of clubs.

Glad we've got a fee for him though and we've already got his replacement at the club so we'll be ok.
Don't get the whole agent bashing. He's just doing his job and presenting all offers available to his client, it's Baileys decision.

I get that Tom but I do question the loyalties and the advice of some agents at times. As for refusing to speak to North end about a new contract, that's poor IMHO be it the player or the agent representing that player, especially after 8 years.

Or its just honest, if he has no intention of extending his contract why bother wasting the clubs time?

Freeman going?? Fanbloodyfastic

One of the most overrated players I've ever seen. I read some belters about him on other forums, apparently he is a goalscoring striker! Reminds me an article on him I read early in our promotion season- part of an 'attacking triumvirate who have scored 17 goals already'. Go Luke, only problem was of the 17 goals, 10 were from Wilbraham and 7 from Agard :brill:

Must have a good agent

So what sort of player is her? I will confess, I do not know much about him.

Ignore him, reckon he's shagged his missus or something.

Exciting and still young player that can play either out wide or in behind. Was amazing for us in the L1 season, had a bit of a mare last season but has been getting back towards his best this season.

Decent footwork, good delivery (got about 20 assists in the L1 season, a lot of which were from dead ball situations) but he can't finish to save his life

Call me old fashioned but a bit of courtesy costs nothing. Maybe it's being misrepresented as I read it on a North end forum?

I had a feeling someone might be quite happy at the news. ;)

He isn't presenting all the offers available if he refuses to enter negotiations though, doesn't matter anyway he's gone now and his replacement is already at the club.

Could be a bumpy first few months for him if Bristol City's form doesn't improve but good luck to him I hope he does well.

How's Palmer been doing for you lot?

Brilliant mate, the more he plays the better he gets. However, if the opposition shut him out or he has an off day then it is a really off day for him and he'll come off. Can't see him making it at Chelsea, although I expect him to be a Premier League player in the coming years though.

Is he better on the wing or behind the striker? We need more wingers!

Hard to say really, he was near unplayable every week in L1 in behind the strikers but even Nicky Hunt would've looked half decent in that team.

He played as a winger for Stevenage and has been better in this division out wide than in the middle so yeah I reckon he'd probably be better as a winger for you. Him and Lua Lua would be really solid signings imo.

Solid enough winger at this level, few criticisms of him would be that he doesn't return enough goals and quick breaks can get slowed down, however this aspect he's improving on in the games I've seen this year, passing and moving quicker.

Been one of our better players recently but that's not saying alot. For that price, I'd sell.

Where'd you see that mate? They must be confident in him signing a new contract in that case then..
Sean Taylor tweeted it, respected journalist it seems.

Seems daft as we won't go up or down this season so his contribution isn't going to be that vital.

Winger with a decent touch who is fairly slow footed and witted. Something like 3 goals and 3 assists in this league in 70 appearances whilst having minimal defensive responsibility tells you everything.

Used to be excellent at set pieces, hence a few assists in League One. £1.5m worth he is not.

Not a bad player but our fans overhyped him massively as they wanted him signed after he scored against us for Stevenage.

Tbf the strikers you have were supposed to be good

They're ok, Beckford is the best of them but constantly unavailable and Stevie May is an unknown package.

I rate Makienok but he won't score loads and Doyle and Hugill are squad players.

Robinson is very good but not a central striker.

We lack that 'main man' up top.

They call that "doing an Adebayor"
Apparently has some personal problems which haven't helped him. Shame really as there is a decent player in there.

Try knocking £3m off of that figure. The days of Cardiff pissing money away are done and dusted.

Craig Noone on his way out as well, supposedly going back to Brighton. Such a frustrating player to watch at times as he has the ability but is so one footed and only ever really runs down blind alleys.
So in the current market he is worth around £5 million!

I know just the man you're after. His name is Paul Gladon.

What happened to Doyle then?
Last I heard he was the next big thing after his chesterfield strike

He's a good League One striker who is yet to prove he can hack it at this level, he's proved he can pop up with goals coming off the bench but he's absolutely anonymous when he starts games and has no obvious qualities. Maybe he'll surprise everyone and go on a good goal scoring run but I doubt it.

No Tiago Ilori yet, but he's done the modern day confirmation of transfer by liking tweets of Reading fans welcoming him.

Also see that Jem Karacan has been released by Galatasaray and is now back in England. Would be a good signing for anyone in the league, I hope we offer him something.

Sheffield Wednesday sign Morgan Fox.

We've already signed a left back to replace him so I can now laugh
