Being linked with some 6ft4 German centre half, Patrick Bauer.

Know nothing about him but we desperately need CB's so will take that.

Desperately need CB's because you don't have enough? Or because your current ones aren't good enough? If it's the latter we'll take Bikey off your hands...

Both. We've released Ben Haim and Johnson and Bikey is awful so you're welcome to him.

We only have 18 year old Joe Gomez and we have Arsenal and Liverpool circling so it is definitely a position that needs addressing.

Apparently QPR are preparing to bid £4 million for Andre Gray. If they could kindly feck off that would be great.

There is no way you'll get all the cash from any sale. You hardly signed any players in the premiership. I imagine you'll run a tight ship again.

I think you might be surprised by the amount Burnley spend this summer - the "Sean Dyche to Sunderland rumour" really put the wind up the Burnley board that he might jump ship given the chance.

Cock-ups in the January transfer window (both Dorrans and Lansbury were set to sign) meant that £6 million went "unspent". This will be available plus probably ALL monies from the sales of Ings and Trippier. Dyche could have a transfer "warchest" of about £15/16 million to spend on players and this is WITHOUT touching the £23 million first instalment of the parachute money.

Dyche is aiming for 1st not 2nd this time.

that's a great offer tbf
I dunno, 18 goals last season in the Championship, I'd want at least £6m. It's similar to what other young English players have gone for

Like who?

For one season, which could be a one off season that's great value. He's not that young, he's 24.

We sold Adam Le Fondre, 27, same league, £2.5m, and he at least had scored, and scored quite a few in the Prem. As well as having a far better scoring record in the lower leagues.

Best comparison would possible be Charlie Austin, former non league striker, Austin was slightly younger, scored 6 more goals in his previous season, and only went for £4m.

I'm Andre's biggest fan on this forum, as members of the non league section were often bored of, but I didn't expect his rise to be as quick. Keep the price going up please! I think we have around a 15-20% sell on clause on the profit of last summer's sale of £600,000. Not bad for a player we bought for £30,000!

I'm not sure whether he'll have the same impact next season - if you don't sell him prior to the August transfer deadline, he has a tendency of having poor pre-seasons and then starts the season a bit behind everyone else.

Austin had only scored goals in League 1. Assombalonga also only had L1 experience and went for £7m. Dwight Gayle had a very similar background and went for around £6m. There's quite a few.

Sorry but Burnley will never spend 15-16 million this summer. You spent less than half of that in the Premier League last season so why would you spend double that in the Championship?

There is also the question of who will want to move to Burnley? No offence to your club but I cant imagine many top end players in this league will be queueing up to sign there.

Austin had scored 41 goals in the Championship over 2 seasons?
Assombalonga was over 2 years younger, and done it in League 2 and League One.

Gayle i'll give you but it was only £4.5m.

£4m is top top price for Gray IMO, which is just another example showing how stupid second tier strikers are valued these days. Having seen him a few times I think he'll struggle without Pritchard and (possibly leaving) Jota feeding him, looks like he needs decent supply. Don't think he'll be as good next season, even at QPR.

Fair enough on Austin, was thinking more of him from Swindon days.

I think given we don't need to sell and he fits our system well, £6m is a good price for a player with a lot of potential.

You've got competition. Villa want Hendrick off us, and we want Lowton and Weimann. Seems Villa might be quite happy with giving us them two and cash for Hendrick.

All been delayed while their takeover happens though.

Would you be happy with him signing? I haven't seen much of him at all so haven't really got an opinion [so I'm just going to copy yours].

I think it's highly unlikely we'll spend anywhere near that much. And frankly, I wouldn't want us to.

Scenario 1: we spend loads on one or two players. Scenario 2: we spend meagre amounts on more players. I'm not a fan of either of those. I'm not really sure we could attract players worth spending loads on, and if we bring in a host of new faces it could damage the understanding and morale of a group who visibly work so well together.

We need to make a few shrewd signings, replacing Ings and Trippier if he leaves, maybe one or two more to add some depth in key positions, notably out wide. We shouldn't need to break the bank to have a good season.

This is pretty accurate to be fair. And I kind of like it this way. I'd much rather be solid Championship than pull a Wigan. Not very ambitious I know, but we have to be realistic about the size and stature of our club. Our two promotions have been pretty miraculous, and I'm happy to spend a few years rebuilding before we push on again if it means long term stability.

Don't know much about him either to be honest.

Seems we could actually be signing Weimann this week, and this whole Hendrick swap thing seems to have gone quiet. Papers reprting we've had a 2.5m bid accepted, but I doubt it's that much.

Ince could sign this week too, unless he holds off in the hope a Prem team comes along.

Papers also linking us with Jason Shackell today.

Pyeman that is right dude, one of the reasons BCFC got relegated from the Championship a few years back was that Steve Coppell got too many new faces, and then realized there was no team spirit and took the easy way out. I would advise Burnley to try and consolidate, rebuild, save some of the parachute payments from the BPL, and then try and go up again.

This week, we could be signing: Joey Barton, Jason Shackell, Andreas Weimann and Tom Ince.

Yay for us.

Apparently JET turned us down for QPR, citing his love for London, pampered Cockney prick.

You can clearly see why we are going to struggle. You have all of that and all we have is Tom fucking Hitchcock and Mark fucking Randall.

...and we didn't even sign them this season.

I'm not counting Joe Walsh because he was already here and it had been agreed he would be joining us permanently when he came on loan so we are still waiting for that first signing :tw:

If I was in Brentford's position then I would definitely be wanting that sort of money for Andre Gray.

He has huge potential and is only going to get better. Plus he is currently the only striker we have at the club so I don't think it is crazy money at all.

Dwight Gayle's move to Wolves looks like it's off (it wasn't ever really on to be honest) since they want 10 million for him. Derby will probably pay it.
