Very much doubt it Walkley, he'll end up at a lower end Premier League side if Chelsea get a replacement in for Costa.

Would love him back here but he's too good for this league, he'd be stupid to come back here even if he wanted to and I'm sure Chelsea would stand in the way of that regardless.

He's going abroad, to a club playing either Europa or CL football, that's what Chelsea want, Jody Morris's preferred destination is Fenerbache

I'll believe it when I see it, it's not been picked up on anywhere else and he's been capturing the national media's attention ever since his first league goals at Burton, so we shall see.

Don't see that a move there would be beneficial for him, would be better off at a Brighton or Newcastle where he'd be starting every single week.

We will see, but the source is a well respected football coach who works at a few clubs and has no reason to lie.

I think part of it is the 'comfort zone' some young players have, plus it isn't like Chelsea don't have a reputation for loaning abroad.

Norwich have released some big name players today.

John Ruddy
Michael Turner
Ryan Bennett
Steven Whittaker
Seb Bassong
Youssouf Mulumbu
Kyle Lafferty

Think most of them would be able to get moves to other Championship clubs. I'd go for Mulumbu, Bennett and Ruddy personally.

Ruddy, Bennett and Mulumbu (if he could stay fit) I'd have at Villa. Same as you, Mark.

If they're being released by a team in 8th then they probably aren't good enough for a team challenging for promotion, therefore I don't think any of them seem appealing.

Some of those names are massively surprising, you'd expect Ruddy, Bennett, Bassong and Mulumbu would walk into most teams in this league

Could see us going for Lafferty as a Wilbraham replacement

Norwich fans don't rate Bennett at all and Bassong is dreadful, but I agree on the other two. Very surprised that Ruddy's being released given he's their first choice keeper.

Wages? He must be on quite a lot.

I guess so. Next year's their last of parachute payments so they need to cut their wage budget.

They changed it from 4 seasons to 3 when the FPP rules went to a 3 year process. To make it easier to account.

I had heard rumours that if relegated in your first season then you would miss out on one years payments but no idea if this change went through

Maybe we'll sign Ruddy so we can have Englands no. 1 and 2 playing for us :hesk:

Ike Ugbo of Chelsea being linked with us in the media. 32 goals this season and seemingly a direct replacement for Tammy.
Big things expected of him by all accounts, pacy, powerful and knows where the back of the net is. We seem to have done a good job for Chelsea if they're contemplating sending another 'bright young thing' to us.
If he's anywhere near Tammy, he'll do for me.

Lee J has also been in Italy again, looking at a player, given we've signed Magners and Djuric from Italian clubs, this sounds feasible.

Ugbo looks decent, powerful in the air and good control with his feet, would be happy for it to be true.

Yeah that's how it works... :ffs:

The most likely reasons they have been released are that they are
1) Not good enough for Norwich
2) Not worth their value to Norwich

Given that we are above them in the league and have a smaller budget, none of them seem appealing.

Mostly aging players too. You want young players with potential and sell on value. Not people looking for a last pay day.

I hope that we do better in the loan market than in recent years. We need young, talented players that we have no hope of keeping but really want to do well. We normally get players that are average that don't care about impressing as they have already been around the Championship block.

A lot of talent in the Premier League reserves, or development squads whatever you want to call it. And these days. this league has more and more ball players than 5 years ago when it was all about having lumps everywhere in your team.

Wednesday have signed many a player deemed not good enough by other clubs and got themselves a diamond, certain players suit certain systems and environments ect.

Flint linked with West Brom & West Ham. We were asking for £8m last summer, given he recently signed a four year deal I trust that we'll be asking for the same, if not more.

If Flint is valued at that I want double for Tom Lees.

Flint's worth more to us than Lees is to you though, even with your lack of quality depth at centre half.
