I reckon ALF will do well where he's the star man. Good signing by Bolton. It may seem a lot but when you are £170m in debt, what's another £2 million?

I think he meant Cardiff signed him for 2mill and paid him 20k a week not bolton?

I don't think Bolton can afford 2 quid on a transfer fee never mind 2M.

Curtis Davies signed up, 500k on a two year deal. Got to be happy with that.

Adam Le Fondre has gone to Bolton, £2 million and 20lk a week for 3 years was money well spent by us...

And to think at the time we were gutted to only get 2m for him. Had we not been so desperate we probably would have held out for 5m+ ordinarily.

Although he is still mostly unproven above League One level as anything more than a good player to come off the bench.

Callum Paterson has signed for Cardiff. Useful signing that! Wouldn't have minded him down at ours, though we already have too many RBs.

Is he on a free then?

The fact that Bolton can't afford it hasn't stopped them splashing the cash for a long, long time.

Yep according to BBC he's gone on a free. Yes seems as though they've got themselves in a terrible state, same could happen with plenty of the smaller prem clubs although the income is far higher now but clubs like Swansea, stoke,Bournemouth all have 80m plus wage bills it's fucking ridiculous

Heavy sigh, we are in a transfer embargo due to not releasing our accounts as yet, nothing to do with debt (which we don't have, especially the figures quoted on here), and certainly not to do with having no money, all the big earners have either left or taken a very much reduced salary, so when the season starts, we will actually be on a fairly equal footing

Yeah free transfer, I forgot he was even contracted to us...

And a lot of our fans were thrilled we'd stolen him pretty much from you! It was doomed to fail mind when he was used as winger more than a striker, then shipped out when unsurprisingly he wasn't scoring.

Chuffed we've got him especially when we're rumoured to be switching to a back 3 next season and wing backs are a must. 38 goals in 5 years from a full back ain't too shabby.

I think the real reason we liked Golborune is because he would dye his hair gold and black. Does he go red and white for Bristol City?
Dunno mate, haven't seen him for about six months I can't remember what he looks like

Which ones we been linked with not come across any? Callum Patterson wouldn't have been a bad signing for us on a free, think Cardiff have got themselves a gem there.

Janko and some MLS left back in the last couple of days, as have we, as have Reading.

Millwall have made two transfer bids for our centreback Jake Cooper.

Not sure he's ready for this level yet. Wouldn't mind giving him a new contract and loaning him back to Millwall though.

Be happy with Morrison, someone on Owlstalk claims we are after Daniel Ayala from Middlesbrough.

Would either of those get in front of your current pairing though? I'd have Loovens over Morrison but then I'm basing that on watching him years ago.

I think it's more a case of improving depth in that position, last season we only had Loovens, Lees and Sasso and sadly Loovens tends to miss games through injury every now and again, Sasso was alright but only as a 4th choice for me. Defensive signings won't be the ones that get us promoted as our defence has been one of the best in the league for a few years now, it's getting our attacking talent to click. Would he happy with Morrison he's an experienced defender, tall, good organiser/leader and can score a goal from set pieces which our current defenders don't do. Loovens/Lees/Morrison/Hutchinson would be some amazing centre back options.

Sums him up pretty much! Only negative is his lack of pace but he's an intelligent defender so that makes up for it somewhat. Even though he is a vital part of the squad, IF the money was good enough and we knew for definite Manga was staying I don't think it would be the end of the world if he was to move on.

I'd love to have Manga off of you especially if he's out of contract, suppose his fitness has been a problem though hasn't it?

Burnley released Michael Kightly. Would he still cut it at this level? I know he was wicked a few years back
