Is this John Terry to Villa talk actually true?
I was on site earlier and on lunch break nicked my mates copy of the Sun. And the back page claimed he has already reached a deal with us on 60k per week with various bonus's etc. My question is why would he want to join us when he could potentially triple that wage?

Downing available from 'Boro on a free.
Whatever happened there, from an England player to a free transfer in a relatively short time? I always rated him TBH but he's obviously gone down hill.

Loving this play-off final hangover..

No transfer rumours, no pre-season games, no new kit.

Even more dull than normal.

Season starts in like six weeks..

Supposedly we matched your bid for which is positive as it sounds like we are willing to spend this year!

What's the chances that Huws leaves this summer?
Bet he is thrilled at the choice of us or yourselves the poor fucker! :D
As for Huws I don't think anyone knows, seemed destined to be on his way out during the season but he hasn't been one of the players Warnock has mentioned trying to move on since the seasons end. Would rather we kept hold of him and actually gave him a chance as his performances for Wales and on loan at your lot were pretty decent. He has only played 64 minutes of football for us so far so not had any sort of chance really.

I read somewhere the fee for Hughes is so low because Derby still owe Watford money for Vydra and Anya, which will essentially be written off as part of the transfer. The quoted fees start to make at least some sense if that's true.

Watford will be the better end of that deal for sure! They get Hughes for Vydra and Anya that's a bargain!

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense given no one else appears to be in for him.

Ali Coote signed from Dundee Utd for our B Team.

Beginning to like this B Team structure we have - while it's a shame our academy shut down, and I'd prefer to have "proper" homegrown players (and we've actually had a couple come through of late) the way the category system works means we'll never make any money out of our academy, it was just draining funds from our club. With our budgets as they are and trying to compete in this league, we need every penny we can get.

What the B Team gives us is a pool of players, who can get some proper games under their belt, and should be much more "game ready" by the time we need to call on them for the first team.

(And actually, most of the better young players to breakthrough into the team in recent years - Mawson, Clarke, Field - didn't actually come through the academy, they were all signed in their late-teens, which would still happen with our current B Team structure.)

Our local journo has dmisssed it but also said the fee is around 8m not 4.5. Allot of figures being banded about but they all seem low.

Gutted he's going

Gillingham apparently want £600k for Dack plus add ons. Could imagine a few teams at this level being in for him at that price.

I'm pretty sure we offered more than treble that (£2M) a couple of years ago and they turned us down. Good player most certainly but seemed to go off the boil a bit last season. At £600K that could be an absolute steal if his motivation is good.

There is talk here of us putting a bid in for Marc Roberts...

Wouldn't surprise me. He only has a year left on his contract and now we've brought in Lindsay I reckon we'd be open to offers now rather than get screwed in January again.

On the Scowen front no done deal as of yet. Several clubs in apparently but definitely won't be staying here.

Was it Roberts who went off injured at our place Craig? Good defender if it was.
