What's up with him? I thought he'd have been a class signing at this level.

Whenever Lambert returned from injury with us there was always a noticeable drop in quality. (Thankfully it didn't happen too often). Think he's just one of those players who needs a run of games before finding their feet again. Unfortunately, he hasn't built up the God like status at West Brom/Cardiff as he did at Saints and Bristol Rovers, so he's not being afforded chances and now tumbling down the Football Leagues.

Surprised Mcgugan has had to go on trial at Cardiff, would have thought it's a no brainier for them. Strange he's on trial there but still on the books with us.

Warnock's a wily old bugger Liam. He probably wants to see if LM still has the hunger to play as he was a very good player with the emphasis on the 'was'.

Wilbs is staying with us for another year. Given his family are based in Manchester and he probably would have played more at a lower division club more local for him, I'm pleased the battering ram is staying. Coaching / senior pro responsibilities are perfect for him too.

Prefer to see alot less of him this season if I'm honest.

Insightful story in The Indie on what happened to Valencia happening to Wolves. Worrying. The bit about "parking collateral" fits perfectly. But at the same time it is, like so much reporting on the possible Neves transfer, desperately patronising...not just to Wolves but to everyone in the Championship.

I don't think we'll see much of Wilbs the player David but his leadership of the squad could be of real benefit, particularly with the foreign imports. I have no doubt Wilbs will be helping them settle and act as a 'leader / go to man' for the squad.

George Hirst possibly going on loan to Chesterfield from Wednesday, will be good for him to go and get some first team football - he's already conquered youth football like Abraham had.

Yes - we seem to have a habit of signing former players!

Started a few games under Mackay/Dyche - not up front ofcourse where he has made his name.

Sold to POSH for 1.5 million.

We're strongly linked with a move for Norwich striker Nelson Oliveira.

Our local journos and Nick Mashiter, who is clearly the club's unofficial mouthpiece, are saying that there is nothing in this.

Howson to Boro confirmed.

It's a great signing for them and I'm sad to see him go. He clearly wanted to be closer to his family up north though and despite, it would seem, handing in a transfer request mid way through last season he never stopped giving 100%. Hope he does well, but not too well of course.

Wolves sign Ruben Neves on a 5 year contract for 15.8m, smashing the league and club transfer record.

Oh and Willy Boly signed too on a season long loan. Some good news after what happened to Ikeme.

Why didn't a Premier League club actually go for Neves at £15m and £40,000 a week if he's so good? (I've never seen him play)
