Britt Assombalonga to Boro for 14 million and 60k a week?

Bold move - not sure Forest fans will be happy selling him to a fellow Championship club though.
He costs more than Jordan Rhodes and the latter is proven and not injury prone. Madness.

I'm so smug right now, everything I said about Tomlin has come to fruition.

Hoping James Vaughan going to Sunderland means they can't afford Hugill.

Assombalonga is proven tbf, he's always scored when he's fit. Rhodes is a penalty merchant.

couldn't said it better myself, what people fail to see in Jordan wonder Rhodes great goal numbers are, atleast 8-10 are pens, he's a one trick pony and offers nothing more to a team than tap ins and penalties, which is still a useful skill to have

we've confirmed Samuel Alfonso Saiz on a 4 year deal from Huesca, fee believed to be 3.75million euros

this was a tough deal to get done but i'm absolutely delighted in this, there's rumours Hernandez is going to Tel Aviv , so this was a key signing and much younger than Pablo

Alioski from Lugano has flown to Leeds and is expected to be confirmed in 24 hours, a winger that scored 14 and assisted 8 or 9 in the Swiss Premier

Lee Erwin and Diagouraga and Bellusci left out of out travelling squad to Austria, good riddance, Diagouraga is possibly the only one we should have kept

It will be interesting to see what happens with Leeds. Could go great, or go to shit like all the Italian imports under Cellino.

He's never scored a penalty for us :)

Problem for Britt is he's such a crock, injured far too often, surely it'll affect his main attribute, pace.

Absolutely delighted to spend €3.75m on a bloke you'd probably not heard of 2 weeks ago and from the second tier in Spain? Think it's a risk personally.

we'll see, believe it or not players do exist outside England, look around the championship a lot of them were unknown players from the continent and are now established players

Becchio was an unknown form the Spanish 2nd tier btw, and he scored 20 championship goals :(

I agree there's plenty of quality players to be found away from these shores and not all are high profile I just find it difficult to get excited about players I'd admit to knowing little about.

Saiz has a career entrenched in the lower reaches of Spanish football, time will tell if he can adapt I suppose.

I'd fucking love Diagouraga here, him and Pearson in the middle would be quality.

How is Britt a 'crock' and 'injury prone'?

The guy, in one freak accident, tore his cruciate and broke his kneecap and was out for 18 months. He's obviously had to ease his way back in and there's a risk his knee could explode again, but to call him injury prone is unfair.

The guy is a certified bagsman too. If Boro get a full season out of him he will bag 25+

If that's really how you feel, let me know when you're dropping your ticket in the river, and I'll fish it out, tie a rock to it and make sure it sinks so you can't get it back.
Ashton Gate will be a better place for it

Jota came from the Spanish Second Division to us, and Ayoze Perez went straight from there to Newcastle, plenty of good players around.

Lining up a 4 million bid for Matty James apparently.

Sounds like we've got our finger in plenty of pies (Huddlestone, Jota, Lawrence) but we'll see what actually comes off.

£2.9m for a player who only turns up for 20% of his appearances and gets 20k a week off the wage bill, its a great deal if anything. We played our best last year without him in the side and no point having him around if he wouldn't be featuring regularly on that money.

Bore off DB Disco, and that isn't true at all Hodge - we played our best football in the first fifteen games when Tomlin was pulling the strings.

Let's see us replace him with some quality then, otherwise we're seriously fucked. We look a great price for relegation at 6/1 at the moment.

Both at a far cheaper price than what Leeds are paying, I'm not saying there aren't good players at that level but the price is mad.

Agree to disagree, we were getting the results in our first fifteen games, but we also went through our horrendous run while LJ was trying to find a place for Tomlin. I felt we played our best actual football during the patch towards the end of the season when we changed to 442.

We don't need to 'replace' Tomlin so to say as we won't play a formation regularly that would require doing so, if we need a CAM we could go to Paterson or Reid if required to. I'd rather see the money re-invested in a keeper or a new LB.
