Got two bids in on players, rumoured to be Darikwa at Chesterfield and Paterson at Forest

Any idea what you will bid for Paterson? I'm pretty sure Forest would want their money back on him (£750k upfront rising to £1.2m) - especially when we have a sell on for him. Are PNE really ready to spend £1m on a player with vast potential, but who hasn't exactly proven himself at that level over a consistent period of time?

Deal depends on whether Forest are willing to take a loss on this one IMO.

We want him too according to the E&S, but then again we've wanted him for the last 2 transfer windows. Think he is on the list of potential Sako replacements for us.

It would probably be an easier deal financially for you. There's definetely a good championship player in him it's just whether he can reach his potential. From what I gather, he got a little bit cocky and arrogant after ending the season well with Forest, season before last. Sort that out, get him fit and bulk him up a little and there's a very good player on your hands.

Yeah mate, I'd be happy if we could get him. We seem to be after players who are young and have a lot of potential (Benik Afobe, Jed Wallace, etc) and I think he fits the bill perfectly for that.

I've no idea, the owner came out last month and said we're debt free and we were rumoured to be spending 1 million on a goalkeeper, So the money is there.

At a guess I'd say around 600k but all business is done without much getting out at pne so no one really knows anything.

Haven't heard patersons name in the forest team much after he tore West Ham apart a few years ago.

Charlton fans, talk to me.

Joe Gomez who you're about to sell to Liverpool. Apparently we're one of the clubs he may go out on loan to.

Class act and only just turned 18.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City along with unnamed Bundesliga sides have all had scouts to watch him.

Would be disappointed to see him loaned elsewhere but I would imagine we'd be expected to pay some of his wages which I'm guessing have somewhat increased!

Today's signing for Derby is Chris Baird from West Brom.

Not a bad utility backup player, decent DM or RB. Wouldn't rely on him as first choice but doubt you will be.

Seems every day Derby are bringing someone in.Who will it be tomorrow?

On the plus side for us Clarke has said he is hopeful on bringing in 2 or 3 players in the near future.Hopefully that might shut up some of the negative fans we have (Not my fellow Reading fans on here) who seem to be panicking that nobody has joined us yet.

I'd be surprised if we signed Jamie Paterson if Wolves are interested.

Him and Darikwa on permanent deals would be top class business for us though.

Well Tom Ince for £3.5m rising to £4m isn't far off ;)

Surprised he's still around tbh, he seemed old when I had him on a football manager game in 2003

Only 31, he made his debut for us at 17 and actually looked a good prospect.

Then he got a bad injury and turned into the worst keeper ever to have lived.

Brentford, Newcastle, Chicago Bears
Ben Pringle and Andy Lonergan have joined Fulham.
Would have liked to have Pringle down here, but we've already got quite a few attacking midfielders.

Extremely happy with Baird, which may sound daft, but he's a perfect, younger, replacement for Eustace. He also has more positions to his game as well.

We needed a player like him, as shown by the meltdown when we lost Eustace last season. We've got quality in midfield, in Bryson, Hughes and Hendrick, but sometimes/a lot of the time didn't have the nouse.

He's very professional too, and already conceded that he doesn't expect to have a starting role handed to him.
