Lasogga will be on a fair whack, surprised if you could afford his wages (c.50k)
Yeah, as Kev says:

Leeds are very keen on Lasogga. Wages an issue. One of Hamburg's higher earners but Hamburg willing to do a deal to move him on. #lufc

Tbh recently Phil Hay's only really had a sniff when things are quite far down the line so suspect this is pretty close.

Fair enough. Great signing for this level, and probably a decent signing for PL as well. Do you think he's being lined up as a Wood replacement? Both are target men so they wouldn't both play, and you'd have to doubt he'd drop down a level to play on the bench?

He's got less than a year on his contract, and our policy is always to sell at that point if we can get a decent fee. It'll be a massive shame as he is our captain and key to our defence, but he'll be able to double or triple his wages with you so wouldn't surprise me if he left.

I'd want £6m if he was in contract, I reckon we'd take £2m now and he'd be a steal at that
£2m sounds like a very good price, we could potentially get both Baker and Dean for the price of selling Flint.

Been chasing all Summer for Lewis Baker on a two-year loan, and now he's going to Middlesbrough. At least we're signing Bacuna from Villa..

Would be a good signing for a million.

They seem to have gone through a shitload of keepers over the past few years, Federici would probably solve their problems unfortunately.

Really? I've always liked the look of Federici at this level.

Prone to conceding soft near post goals on a regular basis. His off the field antics leave little to be desired - throwing strops when it doesn't go his way and, because he obviously wasn't man enough to speak his own mind, getting his missus to slag off the club on social media.

Arrogant prick. See also Joe Hart - think they are better than what they are.

£16m turned down for Wood. Matter of time before he goes...

Crazy money. Not worth it at all. Whoever is bidding for him should look elsewhere

I agree, but I guess he's proven at this level without failing at a higher one already - which is a rarity.

If you take a look around, there aren't many proven Championship strikers that Premier League teams would take a gamble on. The majority have subsequently already been tested there and failed (moved on back to the Championship, either with the team they were relegated with or after being sold) - Rhodes, Grabban, Fletcher...etc. Although, some, have even fell a little further and now struggle to get a game at this level - Gestede, McCormack, Vydra.

Wood was deemed inadequate by Leicester a few years ago, but he's done well since then and some clubs will see it as a worthwhile gamble.

One of those where I wouldn't want my club in the Prem to spend £20m on him but I wouldn't sell him for that either. And again it's the same debate but he's definitely worth that in this market.

Ultimately it's down to him. I think we can turn it down if he wants to stay but if he wants to go then he'll go, basically.

He's already said he wants to stay, rumours are he's currently in negotiations to be our highest paid player he's currently on 17k which is poor for someone like him, radz has been dishing out big deals since he's got here berardi, okane, Vieira and Cooper all tied down I expect the same unless he's now seen the pound signs

If I was Wood, I'd be looking at the 60k Assombalonga got from Boro and use that as a reference.

He probably wouldn't get it at Leeds, but if he digs his heels in and makes enough noise then he could get close.

Tom Lawrence is close to joining, finally.

It's only taken two months, but it seems like we're nearly there :2thumb:

That's another signing I can't understand when Jota is available. Surely cost more and is likely to be a worse player in this league...

9 goals in 34 games from midfield in a Mick McCarthy side is very impressive.

He may cost more than Jota, but he is English, which also means better resale value too.

I think we were in for him, but pulled out when the asking price went above £4m.

Lawrence will thrive in a Derby County side. Comfortably a better option than Jota, 'in this league' or not. As Madejski mentioned, 9 goals last season from a side who in recent seasons simply do not score goals from midfield speaks volumes.

Good business from Derby for me.

Comfortably better? How do you come to that assessment?

Jota got 12 goals from midfield in half a season last year, having barely played in the 18 months before then. Easily better than Lawrence. (Not just going off last year's record)

Very happy if all the other clubs think there are better options out there than Jota, might stand a chance of keeping him then!
