Hugill thrives at a club like Preston, I can't really see him being effective at another club to be honest. He is built for the shithouse tactics (Ipswich + Joe Garner/ Sheff Utd + Leon Clarke are similar).

Shithouse tactics care to explain what our shithouse tactics are?

He thrives because he's a good player, simple as that.

As crazy as it sounds because we haven't spent a fucking fortune on foreign imports, little old Preston have played some good stuff so far. Absolutely no shithousing.

Going of Leon's reputation at which ever club he has been at. He's a target man, and a guy who tries to power his way through defences. He ain't the sort of player who will play nice eye catching football with one touch passing before rounding the keeper. Unless he plays a different style for Sheff Utd?

Chill out mate, I'm not having a go at your transfer policy.

Your club has a reputation for this style, hell I didn't even know what it meant until I read Tom mentioning it to describe Preston's style from last season. Hugill is a good fit for this system, it works and he scores a good amount of goals whilst playing it. I'm saying is that it won't be as effective to a team that play a different style to yours.

No chance we'll be letting him leave imo. Not unless it's ridiculous money anyway.

How much would you let him go for mate?

£15-20million (no, I'm not joking...) as that'd get us a replacement and a couple of additions hopefully, though we do have limited time in which to do that right now.

You reckon? He's not premier league proven though.

No way we sell Hourihane this summer, if we do (even for 15-20 mil) it would be a colossal mistake! Can't see this one happening.

If we sell one of our best players, what does that say about us? Would be really pissed if this was true. Doesn't matter about the price. We don't need anymore signings IMO. We have Kodjia and Jedinak coming back soon! Can maybe get in a couple of loans but keeping Hourihane should be a priority!

Sam Clucas is off. Nobody is coming in. We're screwed.

We play a completely different style under Neil to what we did under Grayson, it's good to watch, we move the ball quickly and we create chances.

Hugill has performed well in both systems so I don't agree with your comment at all, he's a good striker and pretty much every Championship manager appreciates that. Grayson loves him, Neill rates him, Redknapp wants to buy him, McCarthy wanted to buy him, Leeds supposedly want him, Bruce praised him after the game at Villa Park last season, Stam commented on him on Saturday...

He'd be an asset to anyone at this level.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree. Someone like Hugill wouldn't fit our style at all.

Transfer deadline day has come early.

We are expected to sign Sam Gallagher today, along with Cohen Bramall & Carl Jenkinson of Arsenal. Afriyie Acquah also pending.

Regardless, we don't (majorly) need the money, and he signed a 3.5 year deal 6 months ago. Not a chance he'll be off imo.

I thought Gallagher was chosing between us, you and Villa? Decent player for any of us tbh, although I think he will be wasted sitting on the bench at Villa.

Yeah, it's been reported that Blues have beat us both to the punch. Honestly, I'm not too fussed, I'd rather Davis got more game time whilst Kodjia's injured rather than training up another team's youth prospect. Not to mention Scott Hogan who I'm still sure will come good when Bruce finally learns how to play the bloke like he seems to have with Hourihane.

We will.

A goal scoring targetman with pace is a rare breed, hence the interest.

Agent Gallagher sent to send Redknapp to League One. Blackburn last season was great experience for him.

We've been linked with Gary Gardner in one of those clearly agent-fed online articles, along with two other clubs.

Yeah, you lot Brentford and QPR. He's had more than enough time and chances to break through here, last season was his BIG chance and he fluffed it. Shame, I won't be sad to see him go, but he will go with most Villa fans' (including mine) best wishes unlike his scummy brother.

Can he put in a tackle? we need someone to step up as a midfield presence when Ben Pearson is suspended which can be quite frequent.

No, got a cracking shot on him though, although 99% of the time it's off-target.
