Sone Aluko confirmed. Hope he's worth it. Even at the lower end of the rumoured fees it's almost double our transfer record.

Still one more to join before Friday too.
Really, even when you were in the PL?

What's the deal with Dwight Gayle?

Always seems to the bizzo in this league and gets bombed out once in the PL.

Just a matter of The Championship being his ceiling? Surely one of if not the best goalscorer in this division when he's down here.

Hahahahaha if we sign Gary Madine I'm quitting football. Jesus Christ.

That rumour was shot down immediately.

He's not good enough and he's a prick.

Newcastle want 18m, his wages are huge and his injury record isn't the best. A huge risk that is just as likely to go tits up than be a success.

Newcastle were mad to sign him on a 5 year contract because he cant make the grade in the PL and his wages are surely way out of anyone's reach in the Chinespionship. I'm assuming that Newcastle may well want him back again for when they get relegated again, so a season-long loan would wok best for all parties. Would be excellent for any of the top ten, probably tipping the balance for promotion at any of them.

Jackson Irvine has gone to Hull for £2m, a very good deal for them.

Burton must be certs now for relegation if they weren't already.

We look forward to your return. Whereupon you may refer to the place as "here". Until then, on behalf of all Championship clubs (and especially Millwall) can I request that you doff your cap on posting, and start your posts with "If it pleases the maaaaaaaster...."

Yep, our transfer record was £2.5m from our first spell in the Prem.

We then broke it with Tiago Ilori in January (£3m) and smashed it with Aluko yesterday (£6m+)

We used Prem money to try to help balance the books. You also have to remember that Prem money has increased massively. Almost three times larger now than our last season there in 2012/2013.

Very reliant on our new Chinese owners. Slightly scary spending this much and extravagantly given we were almost in administration three years ago.

I think they've done some pretty good business in the loan market. I reckon they'll be fine.

Be interesting to see where we all are in another five games when the table starts to shape up.

Harlee Dean is now official. Excellent replacement for Shotton.

Yep - sad to see him go, but our policy is to move players on who are in the last year of their contracts and are refusing to sign new ones. We moved Bidwell and Button on last summer and improved the side with younger and cheaper players, but Dean will be tricky to replace given he was our captain last season. Without knowing the terms you guys offered him, I am slightly surprised that he's made the move to Birmingham City. Nothing against you guys, but he was probably one or two seasons away from being regarded as a club legend (been with us for 6 seasons) and could well have seen us over the line to promotion, and apparently his family are very well set up financially already.

I just saw his interview, he said he felt that his time at Brentford had ran its course. And cited Harry Redknapp and the direction that the club is heading as the primary reasons for signing for Birmingham.

Had to laugh out loud when he said "massive club... obviously the biggest one in Birmingham". Sounded serious

Connor Goldson from Brighton on loan looks set to go through before deadline tomorrow. Much needed reinforcement at the back while we wait on Smith, Webster and Chambo to return... will be the only fit CB at the club initially.

Jordan Obita signs a new 3 year contract, and Paul McShane for 2 years. Great news as there was some small rumours of Obita leaving earlier in the Summer.

That's basically everyone I would consider first choice or challenging for the first 11 now signed up to at least two year contracts, mostly three years and some with four left!

And with our anti-loan players stance, it means that we can keep this squad together now for the next three years. A lot of trust being put into them. Would take big offers for us to let anyone leave.

We've signed centre back Joost Van Aken from top flight Dutch side Heerenveen, fee rumoured to be around the £4M mark and looks far better business than shelling out for Sean Morrison Only 23 years old, looks brilliant on the ball, left footed and 6 foot 5, should put an end to us constantly losing aerial battles in our own box. Would still like to see us sign someone with a bit of pace tomorrow but can't see it.

We've loaned our under 23 defender Matt Thorniley to Accrington Stanley until January, has come on well at development level and this should be a good move for him. Also Leicester apparently back in for George Hirst at £2M, doesn't want to sign a contract with the looks of it so we may as well cash in.

Just the YouTube highlights but you are right mate Nejc Penik looked like the Slovenian Messi online but played like he'd never played football in his life. Apparently Lazio and Konyaspor were in for him too so got to have something about him.

Like most of these foreigners who teams sign( not us our team is entirely British and Irish, the only one in the top 3 leagues) no one has got a fucking clue what to expect with them you've just gotta hope he's a good en. I personally think its impossible for you to not finish in the top 6 at least with you're squad anyway.

Based on what I saw, i'd say its entirely possible.
