Just didn't take his chances here when he found himself in the team, I always preferred Alan Browne to him at this level and to be fair, Browne has been great this year so it hasn't worked out badly.
Well you did owe us one for Cunningham. Everyone's happy.

The Brownhill we've seen this season is far from a lightweight. Pretty much the complete midfielder, with plenty of time to develop further. Always wary of getting carried away but it's hard to see him not playing in the PL some day.

Brownhill is very good technically but get in his face and drag him into a physical battle and he will go missing, as proved against us.

I'd be surprised if he made it in the league above.

A big money bid would be welcomed though because I imagine we will have a nice 20%-25% sell on included in the compensation deal.

Would you really get 20% plus in a compensation deal? Looked at the report on the Danny Ings compensation package and that was a large lump sum with a smaller amount about in potential add ons without mention of a sell on.

Don't see why we would agree to a compensation deal without a decent sell-on, knowing we would get one included in a tribunal anyway.

By all accounts, we didn't get a large sum of money, something like £250k I reckon so i've no doubt we would have negotiated a sizeable sell-on.

Danny Ings moving to Liverpool isn't really a comparable situation as he was a Premier League player valued at millions. According to the Guardian that deal included a 20% sell on, £6.5m up front and £1.5m in add-ons.

It's pretty much a mandatory thing when selling young players these days.

250k for someone who was seen as a league 1 player and not needed by you guys wasn't exactly peanuts at the time given he was going out of contract. If you were selling him in contract hard to think you' have been getting much more than double the amount. So hard to think we'd agree to 20%-25% in addition to paying a fee, I'd have thought 15% at most really we'd have been happy with. With Ashton in charge of dealings he's been massively on the ball on the financial side.

Neither of us have a clue but i'd be amazed if we haven't got at least a 20% sell on, as we would have just let it go to a tribunal.

Even if he wasn't in the first eleven, we still offered him an improved deal as the club wanted to keep him.

We will just have to see how much we get when you sell him to PSG in the summer.

Was it not just a case he was offered the deal to force the new club to pay compensation? Not saying any other club wouldn't do the same mind, but seemed like he was always on his way out.

I too would be surprised if there wasn't a sell on clause in the brownhill deal.. seems pretty much the norm these days with young players moving clubs, even if the selling club don't rate them that highly..

Thank fuck we had that clause with bolasie, most of our fan base thought he was crap and we sold him for 100k.. ended up going to Everton for 25 mil

Scottish papers reckon Louis Moult has signed a pre-contract with us to join in Jan. Good record at Motherwell but you know, it's the SPL. Underwhelming but we've had such good signings from Ireland and that's probably a worse league so who knows.

We were apparently interested in him too, probably won’t tear up the league but should be a decent contributor

I'm happy to take a punt on Moult.

SPL isn't as dogshit as people make out these days imo. McKay, Waghorn, Garner have all come down from Rangers and done well at this level. Probably no better or worse than League One outside of the top 2 or 3 teams.

Does it say we've signed him for next season or will he be coming in January?

IIRC from when we were linked with him, his contract is up at the end of this month.

Ah cheers, hoping he's brought in to play alongside Hugill and not replace him.

Also one of the clubs linked to a loan move for Scott McTominay from United.

Leeds and Bolton the others, only a rumour in the Sun though.

Daily Mail linking us with Diafra Sakho. Yes a club without a pot to piss in would be after a £12 million striker from the Prem. Sometimes they're not even funny.

Reports down our way are saying that we are after him as well. Can't be worse than Mackie.

Onouha could be on his way to Burnley. Out of contract in the summer.

Moult to us looks like a done deal.

Preston are set to see in 2018 by signing Motherwell striker Louis Moult.

The 25-year-old is close to finalising a move to Deepdale, with North End reported to have beaten off a host of clubs in England and Scotland to his signature.

Any deal can only officially be completed and registered when the transfer window opens on January 1.

But it is understood that the transfer is at an advanced stage, with PNE paying a fee for Moult.

He will be top scorer now that we missed out on him. Wouldn't hit a barn door for us.

LJ supposedly spoke to a transfer target when up north recently, few loan targets being bandied about as potential ones he spoke to.

No way its Foden, someone on otib saying we've watched Harry Wilson at liverpool a few times and he's been told he can go out on loan in January. Hopefully LJ has a chat with jose about some Utd players too.

Surely if he's going out on loan it would be to lower prem? He's been absolute quality when I've seen him play.

Think he'll stay at Man City especially if Man City are still fighting on a few fronts come Feb/March he'll start getting more game time in Prem matches if they still have a good lead.

Is Wilson any good? And I'm not sure Foden would get a Premier League move at his age, no disputing his quality though.

Can't say I know, had an injury over the summer while with the first team squad, seems to have been decent since coming back for the 23's with both goals in their last game, was their captain for the reserves last season.

Someone on otib has posted a video from youtube with clips of him from U23's games, his style of play looks like it would fit right in with us and I got a vibe of his style of play being a combination of Brownhill and Pack.
