A couple of posters on our forum reckon they've been told by Bees fans that we've agreed a deal for Vibe. I would be happy with that. Heard anything Bees fans?
Nothing our end at all, so don’t think there’s anything to it at the moment.

I’m sure we’d sell him for a bid or £3m or more. But of a snip for him I’d say, shame he’s got so little time left on his contract!

One thing we’ve never been good at in this league is extending contracts.

Turns out Vibe’s been directly involved (goals or assists) in more Championship goals than any other player in 2017.

Happy with Maupay and Marcondes long term, but short term would definitely be a downgrade.

Will be a bit gutted to lose Bjelland too, only really been back to form after injuries this year, but he’s been great.

Some rumours of Tarkowski and Mawson getting moves to big(ger) PL clubs this month. We're due about 25% profit sell on for Tarky, if the £25m fees being banded around are right we should be looking at around £4-5m, which isn't too shabby at all!

We've got a 30% sell on on Mawson too, but that would only be of Barnsley's cut of their deal with Swansea, so we might get around £1m, but likely no more.

Still, potentially £6m in for players we don't even own anymore isn't too bad.

Pissed off we didn't try to sign Tarkowski when he was at Oldham, he was obviously class and Brentford got him for about £300k. Not sure if we had that money to splash back then though.

Linked with Nelson Oliveira again from Norwich (Mendes client).

Also two more Mendes players linked, Joao Carvalho and Rafa Silva of Benfica (the latter cost them €16.4m from Braga, but hasn't settled).

I am never that into rumours as we've always been secretive, however especially of recent transfers there seems to be very few links until it happens. The only exception I can think to that is Neves? And presume that was Porto saying the deal was close due to the transfer laws there requiring you to do so.

We've made a bid sign Joe Williams from Everton on a permanent deal. He's been one of the very few positives in the first half of our season so that would be great.

Harvey Barnes has been recalled by Leicester. They claim because they want to give him a chance in their first team but I won't be at all surprised to see him back in the Championship with a club that's doing well before the window shuts.

Seem to be after a Sunderland midfielder who hasn't played much in recent week..

Well he'd be used to losing!

And a defender from Wolves (Hause?)

Hause is a strange one, we used to rate him and Iorfa very highly, and now Hause can't get into our team whilst Iorfa was loaned out to Ipswich. Only a year ago both were regulars in the England under 21 squad so the potential is clearly there. For one reason or another Nuno doesn't rate him enough for the first team. He'd be a gamble for you, but the chance it pays off he could turn into a very good CB. Would probably cost you around £2.5m I would have thought.

His last game for Wolves was part of the defence that kept Man City to 0-0 over 120 minutes. Take from that what you will.

You just know it's going to be us and little Lee don't you? No, I haven't heard anything but it's probably us.

He was incredibly good as soon as he joined us - think we went on a run of about 13 games where we conceded

For £2.5m I would think there would be an awful lot of clubs interested, including ourselves! (with Bjelland going, we'll need a left-sided CB)

Read you were in for Ryan Kent. If it's between those two then Barnes is the better option in my opinion.
You rate Barnes more than Kent? Obviously you’ll be able to judge better than me but I remember Kent coming to the gate last year and he was absolutely superb.. I was hoping we’d sign him in the summer on loan.

I was more impressed with Janko than Kent at AG, gutted we didn't sign him as he'd have been playing every week with Pisano out injured.

Remember speaking to Craig about Kent before, great player to watch but produces very little in terms of end product.

Summed up well by Mark, although I'd be surprised if he is allowed to leave currently, we play 3 at the back and our ranking is

1) Boly
2) Coady
3 & 4) Batth or Bennett
5) Miranda
6) Hause

Miranda is one of the players named in the Portuguese match fixing and Batth is about to start a 3 game suspension, but both him and Bennett are prone to the sorts of challenges and play that gets you a red. Hause is in and around the squad and should hopefully be picking up the system and developing.

I rate them both but yes I reckon Barnes is the better player from what I've seen. Barnes is performing better in a side that isn't doing as well as the one Kent played with. I would love to see either player back here but if I had to choose then it would be Barnes quite easily.

Wolves apparently on the verge of signing a fairly promising sounding striker from Valencia, one of the top scorers in the second tier there and played under our manager when he was at Valencia. As usual I have no real idea who he is, but the football manager types are pleased....

Only the third tier in Spain but foreign signings seem to be the one. Saiz was the best player in the Segunda last year and now is one of the best in this league - £3m. What does that get you domestically?

Just a shame it's so hit and miss.

We'll no doubt have a quiet window and fail to address our needs before finishing 7th again. When will we learn?

Due to sign tomorrow for 1.7m on a 4 year contract. Scored 15 in 19 this season. Think the reason we are getting him so cheap is because of Valencia's financial problems, similar to the Neves situation with Porto.

He has turned down a contract there according to someone on twitter that was an actual reporter.

We got Jota from the second division, few decent ones knocking about. Think Ayoze Perez joined Newcastle from the second division in Spain too

£3m gets you our full squad plus a million in change.

Rare example though and although impressive, I'd still say you could do with a couple of top quality players to supplement them (without upsetting the balance)

I agree with that, when our first choice 11 is fully fit, it's a match for anyone in this league I'd say.

What lets us down at times is the ability to bring on a bit of quality from the bench when things need changing.
