We've been linked with Carlton Cole on loan. Not sure if there is any truth in it.

I think this has just been invented on Twitter following him playing for their U21's today, but a fair bit of talk that Liverpool recalled Ibe as we refused to discuss a deal for Hughes.

Hughes has been pretty immense this season, best central mid by far for us currently based on the others form. Can't let him go at all.

And maybe signing a QPR player on loan in Junior Hoilett

Matt Phillips would be a class signing for anyone in this league.
I'm not so sure. I watched him plenty of times for Blackpool in the championship. On his day, yeah, he's unbelievable, but he seems to be one of those players that has those games very rarely and is the epitome of a confidence player.

Blackpool want to terminate the loan for first-choice goalkeeper Joe Lewis to avoid triggering a clause that means they will have to sign him permanently.

Lewis, who is currently on loan from Cardiff City, has been one of the Championship's bottom club's better performers this season, but was left out for the weekend's 7-2 defeat to Watford, and Blackpool have since asked the Welsh club to terminate the loan, report the Blackpool Gazette.

It is thought Blackpool will be obliged to sign the former Peterborough man for £40,000 if he plays 40 matches.

After being on the bench on Saturday, Lewis has not trained with the club, due to the limbo the current situation has left him in.

Oysten won't even pay £40k for a player? Even Oxford have offered six figures for Tyrone Barnett! (Whether or not that is sane is another debate!)

Unbelievable. He has 2 games to play until his deal is forced to be permanent.

Completely tore us a new one for QPR last year, think he'd do likewise again.

Middlesbrough are signing Adam Forshaw from Wigan apparently, that is a great signing for them.

Blackpool have been rejected by a Partick Thistle player.

Didn't he play for you in August? I thought player could only play for two different clubs during a season?

Also, what is going on at Wigan? £4m in the summer on him, and now they're selling for £2.5m!

No if I remember correctly he was coming back from injury in August and only played a couple of pre season games.

I find it funny how he said moving to Wigan was a 'no brainer' so he could be closer to family in Liverpool and then five months later he is moving away again. I do wonder if he wishes that he stayed with us.

I don't know if Sheffield Wednesday need a left back, but Andrea Dossena is apparently going to be leaving us and has said that he is looking to move to the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday.

I'll drive him there if need be, the bloke is a grade A cock.

A number of clubs including Derby, Bournemouth, and Boro looking at Tom Ince on loan.
We're maybe looking at alternatives to Gray at Birmingham.

Worried that a lot of the other clubs around us will be able to strengthen with some good PL quality on loan, while we seem to be a bit stuck in our attempts to sign a forward. MacLeod should hopefully be a good signing.

Wouldn't be surprised if we didn't sign anyone, and at the start of January I wouldn't have minded that in the slightest. Seeing as we've stuttered a little recently, a fresh face and injection of life might help but I think we'd remain decent regardless. Brentford are clearly very capable as well and have a good balance going. There is no guarantee any mad-dash signings in January will fit into the side and benefit.

Sometimes over the top signings late in the window are more panic than they are logic. I do worry about any crazy inflated bids for Gray at Birmingham.

Birmingham's press keeps name-checking random clubs, from Arsenal and Spurs to Red Bull Salzburg as interested in Gray. Yet ours is the only bid on the table, should their board wish to sell. They seem interested in cashing-in, but seem desperate to avoid the embarrassment of selling to little Bournemouth.

Wolves will reject any bids for legends Michael Jacobs and Leon Clarke. Just putting it out there to scotch any rumours that your club is lining up a bid for one of them. Or both of them. Or significant parts of either.

With Jacobs and Clarke staying on our books and not moving up to the Premiership, I think automatic promotion must be a near certainty for us now.

To be fair, their decision-maker has to have transfer offers smuggled in to him hidden in a cake. Each transfer window is like an episode of Porridge for Birmingham fans. Only funnier.

I'm still surprised Bournemouth are chasing Gray after their ridiculously low bids at the start of the month.

Wasn't it a £2m bid, when i'm sure Birmingham have said in the past they won't accept anything less than £6m.

I'd be happy with Ince, even if he does seem to have lost his way a bit lately. Certain McClaren would sort him out.

What's he done? I heard one Orient fan very happy that he had signed?

Who's to say what is low or high for an 18 year old kid with a dozen or so appearances, when no other club is prepared to bid currently.

Current bid is 3.5m so brum press reckon. Birmingham apparently want 5 or 6m according to reports but who knows for sure, it's all being done through the Birmingham rag, where ever they get their info from.

Just waiting for these arsenal and Liverpool bids to come in...

Ridiculous amount of money, for this level.

I blame Fulham for spending 11m on McCormack.

You would think that would deter clubs from splashing big, what a monumental flop he has turned out to be so far.

This is football though, lessons are never learned.

Good young English prospects always been worth a lot.

Oxlade-Chamberlain cost Arsenal £15m aged 18 and he had only played 36 times in League One.

Gray looks very good (but not on the level of Ox) - so £6m is an entirely reasonable price tag if they believe he's good enough.

Having said that though, I'd expect at least 10m for Will Hughes...

Although that wouldn't be a championship club buying. Amazed how Bournemouth have met FFP. Stinks of being a tad dodgy. #RammyBecomesLancy

Dele Alli moving from MK Dons to Newcastle for £4m supposedly too.

Only hope in Gray being cheap is the ownership problems at Birmingham, but honestly if he was that cheap I'm sure a Premier league club would come in for him.
