Signed Sam Baldock from Brighton. Think that's a pretty decent signing at this level.
Looks like we've got Ben Woodburn on loan for the season, pretty decent bit of business I'd say. Pipping Aston villa to players is pretty funny too.
Villa didn't get him because Jorge Mendes didn't recomend him. Isn't Portuguese enough for them, fucking hypocrites.
We haven't agreed to any of that according to wilder last night, I'd never have wilder down for agreeing to it either, it's not all gone through yet anyway so sure we will see if/when it does. Why do Ipswich fans dislike us, I find that more retarded/baffling to be honest.
I genuinely know very little, and care even less, about Sheff Utd. I'm just telling you now that if you've agreed to such a clause then you're the mugs of the division. /endtopic.
Yep, fair do's no argument with that statement.
Surely they're only hypocritical if they go and sign players who have no business being in the Championship and are clearly only there under dodgy circumstances like you lot did? Which as far as I'm aware, they haven't.

Most of the big clubs insert these clauses, I'd be shocked if there isn't one in his loan deal where he has to play in 85% of games when fit or something.
We did last season and were fined £300K because our loanee was shite! What fucking club would agree to this? Absolutely retarded. Sheffield United are baffling.

I know for a fact, including Bersant Celina and Tom Lawrence that we categorically refused these clauses for all loans players, for the entire 5 years we spent under McCarthy; he spoke about it at length on several occasions how it just doesn't make sense.
It seems such a backward thing to do to guarantee minutes on the pitch; stemming from either a poor management decison or pressure from above due to such a ridiculous clause.
Nothing good comes from guaranteeing a player game time, no matter who they are.
Norwich paid us nearly £2M to take Rhodes for the season, he'll no doubt bang goals in for them and we could make a profit on him...
Wonder how these deals work, you reckon they pay his wages too as well as the 2mill?
Knowing our chairman, they are probably paying a very high percentage. Pretty good business for us really, providing he scores the goals for them. Loan fees are becoming more and more popular now, you see a lot of clubs on the continent taking players for 2 years now.
If they aren't the 2m fee will be about his wages for a year I'd guess. I think he would suit the way we played last season perfectly, but on the other hand he may be finished, Fernando Torres never really recovered after liverpool, maybe he is the same, very strange though as he was quality for 5 years at least.
I remember us trying to sign an Atletico keeper on loan with an option for a permanent deal under Martinez who hadn’t played a game for them. I think he went on to have a decent career. David De Gea his name was.Again, they haven't actually signed anyone yet who shouldn't be anywhere near this league. Llooking at a young keeper on loan who hasn't actually played a game for Atletico yet is a little different to signing a Champions League captain. Until they do something like that, then it's really hypocritical in any way.
We did last season and were fined reportedly £300k for not playing Kent which is probably the best bit of spending we've done for years. What fucking club would agree to this? Absolutely retarded. Sheffield United are baffling.

RE: Woodburn. Can't see Liverpool agreeing to loan out one of their best youngsters without those clauses, it's why we backed away from Harry Wilson last January. Grujic had one at Cardiff too.
Based on his form last season, he could have actually fired you into the play offs had you taken the gamble.
No doubt clubs will put strict clauses into loan deals because they want what’s best for the player, not the club. The club loaning the player wants what’s best for the club, not the player. No point a kid from a Chelsea going out on loan and sitting on the bench.
If nothing else, it at least encourages clubs at this level to do a little bit of homework on players before taking them on loan.
